Great I would like to hear how they compare. What power tubes and guitar will you be using?

I will be running 6V6's and with my Switch Stealth and my Charvel strat mutt, both with Rio Grande BBQ's in the bridge and a SM 57 for the mic. 4x12 loaded with the WGS Vintage 30 clone speakers

Great choice on pickups! The BBQ is incredible. In the end I went back to stock pickups in all my PRS and Gibsons but I am tempted from time to time to spend some cash on pickups. Never tried Suhrs. Right now all PRS and Gibson pickups.

Guys,

Any thought son why I have to rebias my Mod 50 every week? Everytime I check it, it has moved!

Also, I still wish the MHG had more cut....sounds awesome and creamy, thick, but could use more highs or upper mids. Is that the EG5? I like thick and dark so I am afraid I will miss this tone if I have the mod.

I have both and the EG5 is MHG with more cut and high end.. Sounds great a low volumes and once pushing some air you have to be careful with the treble and presence or it gets out of hand! Jury still out on it at gigging levels...at bedroom it is awesome...got a rehersal with both so I will put it to the test.

Not to me, I really enjoy the cut the X/JXH/EG5 gives at gigging levels. I switch back and forth between it and SL2 every week and I always miss the other one :) I love the SL2's vibey OD, but I miss the cut and clarity of the EG5 when its not in there. I just need a module extender so I can put more modules in my Mod50 :)

I notice this as well. Haven't give it a lot of thought. I just reset it to where I like it and go on.

It has been the same way for me..I always end up with the EG5 back in cause it cuts so well!

Still as thick and warm as the MHG?

The issue with the bias is troubling and I wonder if the bias adjust is loose on some of these amps.

I've got the MHG, but am very interested in trying the JXH/EG5; since you mentioned that it's possible to mod the MHG to EG5 specs, is that something you'd share for those of us willing to do it on our own or is it something I'd have to send my MHG in for?

Great product idea, like a module that you plug in one slot which extends to the front and has a two module space - so with two of those you could run 4 modules in the MOD50 :D

Bruce has confirmed they are working on this. Maybe we'll see it come NAMM?

Well I just shipped out the MHG for the transformation :D I put the COD back in the slot in the M4 and DAMNED if I know why I took it out, this modules smokes and sounds huge, throw a little delay and the hugest leads OMG,and to think that I almost got rid of it ssshhheeesss!
