Kat Von D of LA Ink fame has shocked fans with her plans to completely cover up her body artwork with black ink - revealing that she has chosen not to undergo 'extremely painful' laser removal and instead simply 'black out' her skin.

The 41-year-old tattoo artist - who recently renounced witchcraft and the occult, and embraced Christianity - revealed on Instagram she that is in the process of 'blacking out' her body which has taken '17 sessions and almost 40 accumulative hours' thus far.

I have a few tats but I never understood why a woman would do that. I’m very desensitized to tattoos also after spending 22 years working in a prison. As far as that satanic shit….Hellz to the no…. I assume that is what she had on her. Poor thing.
