Must've maintained some sort of decent viewership.
 
He’s obviously a great chef, but the dramatic hatred BS is BS. Just helping people to learn chef skills would be far more productive IMO.
 
I'm pretty sure it's just always been his style of teaching, as it was for many back in the day before the woke mob put the reins on.

That's not to say he doesn't ham it up for tellimavision; it's prolly impossible for us to know just how much gravy he pours on it.

Yeah there is this and well teaching can only go so far or "teaching" in the traditional sense in a kitchen or well damn well nearly any working environment..... Sometimes people have more in them even they give themselves credit for.... and you need to give people a "push" so to speak.....



In a kitchen that is why many times I would hate a Chef or hell others would hate me.......



And its hard to explain but sometimes you just need that survival attitude to just get it done and get shit done. But otherwise as a Chef you really have to understand what is needed and what needs to be done without the BS and Ramsay shows that as well in many cases.



For example in a kitchen sometimes you have to wash dishes as a Chef even though that isn't the normal...... you have to wash dishes and cook..... you have to wash dishes......cook and serve and well that is a complete worst case scenario but yeah......


The main thing a Chef has to remember is to identify problems in a kitchen or a system and way is done and to make sure those problems are mitigated so things run as smoothly as possible...... things aren't always perfect sometimes and well but standards must be upkept and you have to roll with what is given on any day......


As Pizzaiolo too for example there are parts that some consider lower than others for example in some Pizzerias a guy who opens the dough is the lowest tier...... in others its the highest......... in other ones the guy who sauces the pizza is considered the master while the guy in the oven is a donkey and in other places the guy in the oven is the master because it takes a lot to cook under certain temps and skill.



What Chef Umberto Rubeli taught me at Naples (now Executive Chef for Portos Bakery) was that no role is more important than the other and as a Chef you have to go to the role and the place that needs help on any given day and circumstance. For example at Naples stretching was considered the main master role....... but even Chef would give up stretching and go on to top or sauce like some rookie or new guy or work the oven like some other donkey......




What matters is just getting shit done at the end of the day however it gets done though and getting shit done is the name of the game.

Yeah I mean there is a lot of haming up for the television but for the most part a lot of that shit happens in the kitchen and can get pretty hot.


Sometimes it's funny because you just want people to do basic shit like well....... label food and make sure it's not bad...... so people aren't eating rotten food and shit..... makes sense.... or other basic stuff regarding cross contamination and such.....



Stuff like that and just the basics and when it's that it can be dealt with and mitigated easily as there is more control there. But when it's "hey you have to move and start working faster, your too slow and we got an hour and half tickets here"......... or "your slow and this is coming out like shit".......



That is harder to fix as there are different levels of production, quality and skill from cook to cook sometimes depending on circumstances. Good cooks dont grow out of trees. Or how do I say, such issues are harder to "adjust" for and when it's those cases you really can't do much else but chop someones ass to just work better, stronger and faster than my grandma at the very least :LOL:


It just makes for better work in a kitchen and just gets results in general anywhere IME..... working faster..... doing better.... working stronger and harder gets better results and however it's done it's hard to argue with results IME.

And really help and guide others unconditionally.....




And you can get shit done without being an Asshole too and Ramsay maybe doesn't show that all the time but as in this case in OP even though it may not seem like it that is what he is doing and making the young brothers realize that they are letting their family and Mom down and they need to do their part.
