Hey guys I picked up Korg Pitchblack Pro rack tuner to add to my rack and am having some problems trying to hook it up. My rack set up is pretty simple: guitar>Rocktron Voodu Valve> BBE 461 Sonic Maximizer> Rocktron Velocity 300> Genz Benz G-Flex 2x12.

The problem I'm having is that I'm putting running the Korg Pitchblack Pro in front of the Voodu Valve and there seems to be no way to bypass the tuner function (ala turning off my Boss TU-2 on my Marshall rig which bypasses it). There is a mute switch, which mute's the output, but if you turn the unit off it also mutes the output, so you have two ways to mute the output signal, but no way to bypass it

I have no desire to have the tuner on constantly while I'm playing and the whole point for me in getting a rack tuner was to incorporate it in to my rack, but if I have to unplug from my rack and plug into the tuner whenever I want to tune, it's useless. It's easier to throw my little Snark tuner on my guitar.

Am I missing something really obvious  or is this kind of a stupid design.

I don't think there is anyway to bypass it and pass signal. Have you tried the check cable output?

I have the korg dtr1000 tuner, but I use it with the tuner out from my ampeg svt3 pro.

There is no bypass I believe, have done a bunch of research on the unit and owned the DTR-2000...awesome tuner... the look of the new pitch black pro looks amazing, but I've held it and just from handling it in my hands I felt like I was going to break it... I mean... plastic rack ears? Really?

Thanks guy's I think I'm going to return it, it seems weird to me that you can't bypass it like you do a tuner pedal and yes the plastic rack ears feel weak, in fact I believe most of the unit is plastic, very disappointing.

I understand them wanting to make it super light... and I'm sure the plastic is also cost effective... but I would GLADLY pay $139.99 over $99.99 for metal construction...

Yeah no kidding, I think it's more out of cost, Racks are usually heavy and the unit is so small, being made out of plastic or metal, wouldn't make much of a difference. The lights are pretty and all, but for the same money I'd take a Boss pedal tuner (or equivalent) any day of the week.
