You can build one to your specs cheaper than buying an original. Check out Southeast Guitars for correct bodies in whatever wood you want. The rest is just sourcing parts.

I'm getting the body from Southeast, the neck from Musikraft & the hardware from Musician's Friend.

Old school Braetta, here is come.......

Abalone Vintage is probably asking ten billion $ for that. They absurdly overprice everything.

The original 84 Barettas are hard to find or over priced.

The new reissues are too heavy & don't have the old school black Kramer decal, which imo, HAS to be there.

So I'm forced to do an 84 Baretta build from scratch. This way I can have an alder body, compound radius & stainless steel frets as well.

The new reissues are Indonesian made crap. Southeast Guitars isn't building any more bodies till fall, from what I hear.

Than sucks. Is there anyone else that builds Baretta bodies?

Musikraft has Pacer bodies, which look like the Baretta with a none slanted pickup, which I actually prefer since it won't sound as trebly or harsh.

If I get desperate, I guess I can go for a Pacer body & Baretta banana neck.

They do look cool.

IMO, the coolest 80s guitar EVER.

that blows away what eddie had!

Eddie's frankie is in a whole other category & not comparable to any other guitar in existence.

You can't compare his original striped guitar to any Kramer, since it wasn't even a Kramer.
dude i am referring to ed's 5150 kramer!

I don't think Ed's 5150 Kramer was really an actual stock Kramer. It was built to Eddie's specs & was a one of a kind.

Kramer was just an assembly company that put together parts made by a host of other manufacturers.

OK i get that but so was the "baretta" :D
I just happen to like the BARETTA a LOT more than any of ed's kramer logo'd guitars ;)

So not true!
Maybe the baretta special is "crap" but the $700 baretta reissue is a great guitar
and i owed the originals.
I would not go as far as to say they nailed it but unless you get a used original
these are 95% of the way there.
you must have played a lemon if you thought they were crap?

Weight wise, how would you compare the originals to the new reissues?
