Kramer Pacer and Barettas......

Looking at some of these and played the 300$ Pacer Classic models that are pretty damn good I figure these are even better and they don't cost a whole lot either...... check them out. Also for someone who wants a mod platform check out those 300$ Pacer Classics......


But yeah pretty nice graphics and colors with matching headstock on some and a lot of value especially for dudes that find themselves on the bridge most of the time. I think you can split the pup too and they also have mounted Floyds.


22 frets, Alder body, Maple neck a Duncan and a Volume pot with push/pull knob..... what more do you need. They also have HH Pacers for not a whole lot that look pretty sick and have some nice features and hardware too

I had the 84. Nice guitar but not worth retail. I got mine local for $300. At that price it’s pure win. For some reason Kramer puts that hammered ass sounding jb in every fuckin premium model. Worst pup ever for that guitar imo…custom 5 would be perfect imo….

To me Kramer keeps missing the chance to put out a Mick Mar's Tele. Doesn't have to be a sig but take me that to a beefed up tele.

Speaking of these Kramers.. there is a younger guy buying the cheap pacers and fixing them up... he is bringing back the 80s and playing through his cheap Friedman SS amp

Everyone says that budget model is killer. Tons of videos of people upgrading them. I had the chance to grab one locally that had everything upgraded. Still had the standard bridge but it was upgraded also. They sold it for $150. Hell the emg and emg pot &jack were that cost…locking tuners, roller nut and upgraded bridge and saddles. Killer deal.

Have the Lisa Frank (feral cat) Baretta that I got for late Christmas.
Probably my most played guitar so far this year. Super comfy. Putting a dimebucker in it, though.

I'm a huge Kramer fan, but maybe I'm being too uptight but none of the current production stuff speaks to me like the 80s stuff.

Pacers with beak headstocks but don't play or sound like the old beaks.
No pointy models that aren't weird like a signature model something or other.

Bang for the buck, yeah I can see that. They get more tempting as the prices of vintage stuff rises, but for a while there $750 for a modern indo pacer classic or $750 for a real '83 Pacer and the choice was obvious.
I wish they'd put out a few more of the standard models. Where's my Pacer Deluxe? Proaxe? Why so few color options?
It's funny that they sold like 10x or 20x more pointy Barettas back then but the model they chose to reissue/recreate is one that they made less than 50 of. Idk when I think "Kramer Baretta" this is what comes to mind:

That red with black hardware is sexy AF. Love that. Agreed that pointy headstock looks killer here.

I love mine! Had been looking for years for something a bit different than most DeMartini/Lynch guitars in an animal print and it was waiting for me when I got home from vacation after Christmas. Didn't even know this model existed, tbh. But have always loved Lisa Frank since I was little and it's just perfect in that regard. It's also a bit more comfy than the Charvels for me I believe because of the neck angle is slightly further back which helps with my...um, chest area. So my wrist is slightly less cramped going up the neck when I'm sitting down. Not sure if it's different than the one you posted, as mine was a bit more in price when I looked at our statement, and supposedly MIJ. Haven't looked deeper because I love it and don't really care, but serial lines up with when that was happening.

Yeah noticed some going for 1100 new..... these going for cheaper..... others going for more used..... these are Indonesian but I know Kramer makes MIJ unless it cost 2000 or something I figure it may be MII but it may have been a limited run in MIJ.


Yeah may consider one in a month or two.


The necks are smaller on these too and did notice that neck thing your talking about on Pacer Classics. Those were like 250$ and sounded great so figure a Baretta or an 84 are even better.


These are 3 piece necks no? They seem to use quartersawn pieces too even though it's 3 piece that is nice and I figure it makes for a really stable neck and tuning stability. Would you say they have more edge or more mean relative to a Charvel or what are the main tonal differences you feel aside from comfort?

Also definitely feel there is a thing to a mounted Floyd tone wise and the way the Floyd works too. Definitely would be nice to have something like that in the stable in either an 84 or Baretta ^_^
