I have 8 heads and 8 cabinets I want to put on a switcher . Currently , I 'm using an Ampete 88s but it doesn't have any provisions for effects loops . The KHE has one with 4 Heads and 4 cabs with effects loops which would be just ok because I would have to pick and choose which heads I hook up unless I bought 2 of them. It is electronic and can be midi controlled. The Kruse is strictly mechanical and can do all 8 heads and 8 cabinets along with all the effects loops. It cannot be midi controlled and is strictly for studio use. That part is no big deal because it will never leave my house . Jens Kruse says his is all mechanical basically to guard against tone loss . Both the KHE and the Kruse cost the same but the Kruse takes up 3 rack spaces .

If you have never used an amp switcher your life will be changed forever when you do ---that is after you spend 2 weeks and 8000 in cables to hook it up . The amount of time saved and fun of putting rigs together quickly is immeasurable .

Help me through this !

How do we move this ??? Screwed up and don't want to delete and retype it ! My bad !!

I was going through a similar thought process and am ordering KHE. I like that it is really modular and extra units can be integrated as needed. Given the price difference is negligible that got my vote.

I just ordered the KHE ACS8x4 and the AFX8 last night. Together I can connect up to 8 amps/FX loops and 4 cabs. The FX loops will just be for a noise gate and EQ. I'm going to use the attenuator loop to split off a line level signal to run to my FX and 2/90/2 and 2 wet cabs.

khe is really good stuff, expandable etc

ampete has stuff out now with Fx options and expandable,

khe is less expensive,

i like my khe setup

I have a 3 unit rack that I have a rack unit saved for a KHE. I need another cab first but my plan is 2 heads on each cab KHE 4x4 plus my Fryette Power station. Just using a single effects loop and 1 pedalboard.

You can check out the DeLisle amp switchers. They have options with FX loops

Another option is to get a switcher without FX loop and a Fryette Powerstation. Run that through the switcher's attenuator loop and use the loop on the Powerstation to run/share FX. That's how I have my DeLisle switcher setup done.

I have a couple of power stations but I can't figure out how to hook up to the Ampete . I'd be happy to leave the switcher I have because I just run a few simple pedals but I want to be able to use them for all my amps and cabs . This is actually the advice I was looking for really . You guys are way smarter than I am. I won't say money is no object but I can do wet/dry or whatever ,I just want o use my pedalboard on the floor

Is your Ampete the 88S-Studio or the 88S-Studio-2?
If its the Studio that one does not have an attenuator loop and not capable or running one of your power stations.
The Studio-2 does have an attenuator loop. the to/from on the Ampete goes to the in/out of the power station respectively. See manual for better info on this.

It is the 88s . I’ll actually have a few choices if I decide to change it up.

I have the KHE and like it. You can link two 4x4fx units together as well. That being said, Jens is a very skilled builder and I wouldn't hesitate to order from him. I was in his shop one day when he was building a wet/dry box for someone, it sounded incredible and functioned flawlessly. He uses high quality parts . I have had zero issues with anything he's modded or built for me.

I have the Kahayan 8 amps, 4 cabs. I don't know of any that allow 8 cabs, but agree you should find one. The Kahayan allows me to use one Power Station for all 8 amps!

I had thoughts about a custom switcher at one point, and all of these folks were decently responsive to my emails. Try contacting them directly if you have needs their current products don't address.

Hooked up the new KHE gear… ACS 8x4 and AFX 8 working in tandem. I’m able to run 8 of my 9 amps in tandem with a shared FX loop and W/D/W using the attenuator loop with my Bray LO-1, Strymon FX and my Fryette 2/90/2 powering the Fryette cabs on the sides.

Mhenson --this is EXACTLY-- EXACTLY what I want to do and have all the amps and gear but can't figure out how to get it done. Where do you live LOL ???

Do you like the Fryette 2/90/2 a lot better than the PS2? The Strymon effects output straight into the 2/90/2?

I do like it better, whether or not it's worth the added cost is subjective I guess. Just seems to me to compliment the power section of my dry amp better when blending for W/D/W. Plus I can use for stereo, vs. just W/D on the PS. The signal goes...line-out to a Musicom Labs Parallelizer. The Parallelizer has 3 loops. The strymons are in each of the loops so I can blend them in and out on an individual basis. The Parallelizer L/R outs go to the A/B channels of the Fryette. I could by-pass the parallelizer all together, but then the wets would be 100% wet. It sounds better when there is a mix of wet and dry in the wet cabs.
