I tested 7 amps with KT77-JJ and had about
30% bad ones ........................

It´s time to give up

What about the Genalex Gold Lion KT77s. Anyone ever try them?

yes i finally got mine biased up properly in a Cornford, and they are pretty cool, sound more modern and meaner in the Cornford than 34's.

also been messing with the Gold Lion KT-66's in the Cornfords, the 66's are cool also, and again kind of modern and mean.

they seem to be good tubes, but i'm having crazy luck on getting tubes in the right bias range?

got the 77's from the Tube Depot and thier sticker said 14, and i had trouble getting them to bias up hot enough in most amps.

and then i got some 66's from a deferent place and they have a way high number of 68, and having trouble getting them to bias cold enough.

suppose the Diezels wouldn't be as picky about needing tubes in a certain range though?

also recently got to hear some Tung-sol EL-34B's in a VH4, and they were sounding awesome! i didn't much care for the VH4 with the ruby tubes in there?
