Whatever tubes are best for each amp is what I think you have to do
This is not acceptable..Though I no longer own any amps that take big bottle tubes.
Send me one! This is not acceptable..
Good to know.Fryette support recommended the EH when I asked them. They said they are the most consistent and reliable of what’s available at the moment.
I have these in my Matamp GT150. They bring the thump for bass, and the punch for heavy fuzz, and high gain metal guitar tones.I splashed for the Gold Lion 88s.
Been in my 20thA Sheevs now for 2 years and they're still crushing, punchy, potent and beautiful. Highly recommended.

I can’t find a kt88 that will last longer than 3 months. That’s why I stopped using my vht2/90/2Good luck finding anyone making a reliable kt88.
What exactly happens? Do they die, get dull??I can’t find a kt88 that will last longer than 3 months. That’s why I stopped using my vht2/90/2

No they quit working. Three sets of kt88s did the exact same thing. Steve Fryette serviced the amp and said it was fine. He put in one more set and after 2-3 months, boomWhat exactly happens? Do they die, get dull??
aww man, this isn't good to hear. I forgot I have 6550 in a Fryette PS100. Any idea if the 6550 are as unreliable as the current KT88?No they quit working. No idea man, sorry. Never used them beforeaww man, this isn't good to hear. I forgot I have 6550 in a Fryette PS100. Any idea if the 6550 are as unreliable as the current KT88?
Might be something to try if the KT88 keep burning out on you. I'm surprised Fryette didn't recommend trying them though. No idea man, sorry. Never used them before
KT's are the beefiest, most chunky Tubes. They are supposed to be bullet proof..Might be something to try if the KT88 keep burning out on you. I'm surprised Fryette didn't recommend trying them though.
yeah man, not saying anything about design, just reliability and current production dies. I think Fryette would have mentioned them if they were any better reliability wise.KT's are the beefiest, most chunky Tubes. They are supposed to be bullet proof..
