It didn't have enough gain to sustain some of notes, there were a few that died out rather quickly. It definately reveals any flaws in your playing, did'nt sound forgiving at all, lots of clarity. Probably the way it was setup though, but at the price of 2 Diezel Heberts, seems a little absurd.

The price I posted was for the Dino, not sure how much the Brit Purist is.

Here's a live Iced Earth video. I believe both guitarists are using Larry Amps. Ridiculous tone.

The British Purist costs less than the Dino, but I'm not sure how much less.

Are you sure both guitarists used Larrys in the Alive at Athens concert ? The opening riff in the clip you posted is insanely tight. Now imagine what it FEELS like to play a sound coming out that tight. Thats why I will probably get one. Its between that and one other amp

I know Schaffer is and I'm pretty sure Tarnowski is as well. I know Larry actually posts here so maybe he knows for certain?

I'm wondering, that some of you like the amp's tone on this video, what's in fact only a shade of that, what the amp is sounding in reality and was caused by the crappy recording situation.

Due to steady controls of the 'noise police' there at the Music Fair in Frankfurt I had to set the Hot Plate to an attenuation of -12dB

There was a horrible noise around from all the other stands.

And the recording equipment just was a digi cam with video function, where the micro certainly isn't very suitable for miking amps/cabs and moreover wasn't located very close to a speaker.

If I've had known before, that this guy intends to load it up on YouTube, I wouldn't have permissed this. But he's removed it again, after he noticed, that I'm absolutely not pleased by it.

But nice, that nonetheless some of you liked the sound :)

Larry's amps are PTP not PC board, look at the photo's---like a high end sports car.......typical German quality at it's finest!
So your saying since it's PTP instead of a PC, that justifys the cost. Diezel's use the highest grade components available, and from the look inside the Herbert, I'm not sure PTP would even be possible.

Check this link on PTP vs. PCB.

Yes, a great explanation!

But almost every preacher with a good elocution could explain (and maybe convince) you, why his religion is better than all the others and why his church is the best at all ;)

Believe me, there's a reason, why I spend 80 hours of work in hand building a British Purist and even 100 hours of work in hand building a DINO - and this reason can't be replaced just with a PCB, maybe already completely assembled and delivered by another company! And I'd do it different, if I'd get the same results with a PCB, what I'm getting with my procedure

Larry, I've wanted to play one of your amps since 99! Damnit! haha   Too bad my brother didn't make it as new bass player in Iced Earth, otherwise, I might have been able to do sound check a couple times with Jon's rig? haha

Woah...welcome to the boards Larry :)

Love your drive to create such work as it is impressive.

That said due to the american dollar being so weak your amps prices are way out of reach of the average..even above average consumer :scared:

Nice work and good luck with your indeavors.
