I wonder if I tossed a unidyne in front of this thread if it'd clean up some of the harshness. To me they just sound like another 57 though.

I never found 57's harsh in the top end though. The real question is does water treating an SM57 subtly alter it's tone the same way it would a vintage 30?

Yes, but only if you're applying phantom power during the water treatment.
 
For that price, Sweeteater didn’t even post a picture of the cabinet with the logo lit up… or maybe they did and the effect is subtle.

Pretty sure that the first run is sold out. I was on the pre-order list.

If they’re shipping it, it means the embargo gets lifted more than likely on Tuesday would be my guess

Does anybody know a single serious player who cites Slash as having an influence on their tone? I can see people who grew up in the 80's thinking he's a symbol for being cool or whatever, but as for knowing anybody who has gone out of their way to chase his tone? Nope.
