Nothing better than an LP for classic rock chunk, jangle tinged cleans and sweet buttery honking blues licks. For metal I'll go with a mahogany based neck through guitar any day of the week. That is a very different beast.

....LPs are great iconic guitars that I sell within 6 months of owning. Super strats for me.

Same here, I have this "love/hate" thing going on with them. Here are a few that I've owned, and a couple that I still have.

Standard 60's in Bourbon Burst, still have this one

Trad Pro II in Wine Red w/figured top. Still have this one.

And some from the past. An 87 Custom Tobacco Burst, 68 Reissue Tri burst and a plain top wine red Trad Pro

I’ve got currently for LP’s a ‘57 Jr (best sounding guitar I’ve heard so far) and a ‘69 LP Custom. My McInturff Carolina Custom though has been the best sounding R9-ish type guitar I’ve heard other than of course the actual ‘50’s ones. Kinda looks like the R9’s awkward cousin, but sounds and plays better. One thing the good LP type guitars have to me over other guitar types is that throaty growl. Some of my fave SS’s can get close-ish but not the same. I think it’s the combo of good Honduran mahogany paired with either PAF’s or P90’s that gives a growl that’s hard to touch with other guitar types

Same! I effin love mine, @itsgoodnow sold me it earlier this year and it's freaking fantastic.
Any idea why they have different headstocks? Mine has the standard "Les Paul" script and yours has the SG crown inlay. Wondering if yours is a Classic Custom? My black Classic Custom has the same crown inlay on the headstock🤷‍♂️

No, mines a guitar center one too. Same "GC ___" serial. But it is a 2007, apparently, not a 2008.

I'm super jealous of that McInturff.

Those are some of the best playing guitars I've ever come across.

Back in the early 80’s I had a 57 Les Paul goldtop that had a repaired headstock. Original pickups were gone. It had been refinished in sunburst. Killer guitar. Sadly like most things back in the day it wasn’t worth very much and sold it for at that time a good price. Only pics I have.
