The only pickguard I like was the matching wood one on my Heritage, otherwise no pickguard.

I'm torn between both. Rhoads had the pickguard and he turned me on to LP's
 
If you look you can see the screw hole where I took mine off

Pickguards look awesome on some.. LP Customs and my Goldtop R7 i prefer with pickguards. The 1959 flametop style looks better without one IMO.
 
I prefer how they look without (on most..), but I prefer playing mine with the pickguard on. I like resting my pinky on it! :D
 
Pickguard for me, I don't want to damage my LP top. My one guitar without a pickguard has pick damage, happened before I bought it....

I picked pickguard, but after seeing these pictures, I have to go with no pickguard. :yes:

Haha, that is my theory too. Pickguards on goldtops and customs, pickguards off transparent top standards.
