Those things are tough enough without the pickguard to play, why make it worse? :lol: :LOL:
 
I have a '76 black custom with cream pups. rings and mathcing pickguard. For me the guard works as part of the color scheme. :thumbsup:
 
Les paul customs and goldtops, YES!
all the others, well, depends on the wood. but usually no
 
I removed the pick-guard on my Epi LP. It's more metal without it. :D

ADd a metal pickguard, then it will be even more metal than it is now
 
I took the pickguard off of my goldtop - like it MUCH better that way. :rock:

In general I prefer them without the pickguard.

I've been kicking around the idea of removing the pickup selector switch ring on mine...this pic has nudged me closer to doing so. :thumbsup:

I think plain tops look better with and flame/quilts better without. Saying that my Faded has a great top but it also has loadsa scratches etc in it too thanks to no pickguard.
