What are you guys using? I have a couple of LPs that could use a change. I have one LP that has a Duncan Pearly Gates set, one that has a WCR Goodwood/Darkburst Combo, and one with a Wolfetone Dr V set. I haven't found suitable ones for my other two LPs just yet.

Super Distortion and PAF Pro, never tried Dimarzio's before, but they sound great! I wouldn't wanna try anything else because it's such a pain in the ass to find the right pickup

I'd use different p'ups for customs and standards, customs have more treble. If you have Norlins with maple neck, even more treble . .

I like the SH6 if you are looking for aggressiveness and a Sykes-ish tone, some 10kOhm Alnico 5 for the bridge if you prefer it smoother but still with a good output for leads and fat rythms - and a 7-8kOhm Alnico 2 for the neck normally, which gives a very nice smooth sound when playing leads. I don't care too much about the brands honestly as long as the values/parameters are "correct".

If you split your buckers for cleans, have a look at the Duncan "spin-a-split" diagramm, IMO - it is simply awesome.

Currently I have BB Pros installed but I'll try the Suhr Aldrich soon to see what happens.

+1000 on the Suhr Aldrich pickups (neck and bridge, because they work so well together)

At the moment I have the tried and true JB/59 combo in my Les Paul. I have bypassed the tone control on the neck pup and used the pot as a spin a split for the bridge pup. I can cover a lot of ground this way. However, I am seriously considering a Suhr Aldrich set soon.

I have a rio grande Texas/BBQ set in my LP studio and a Stock/BBQ in my LP custom. The LP studio is going up for sale soon, so the gold covered Texas/BBq pickups will be going up for sale separately.

I have heard good things about the Suhr pickups, but I thought they were a little pricey, haven't checked yet though.

The Goodwood/Darkburst combo are the best pickups that I've ever tried in my LP. I'm surprised that you want to change them...

On my Suhr Strat I have DSH and DSV humbuckers. DSH is a bit hotter and it's in the bridge position. I assume that the Aldrich pups are similar but a bit hotter, not surpassing the 10 kohms.

No, don't want to change them. That LP is fine. The three Les Pauls I mentioned are set -- have a couple of others that need something different, as I don't want them all to sound the same.

The WCRs are going nowhere!

Rio Grande BBQ/Texas.

I don't a LP right now, but i kept those pickups around in case i get another :D

What would you guys suggest for super vintagey PAF style tones? The JB in the bridge of my Edwards is actually a little too hot for me. That, and it compresses to much with my OD808.

Alnico II Pro's have been suggested to me, but I dont want to sound like Slash. Although I hear they really let the guitar shine through (clarity). What do you guys think?

If you're after a Billy Gibbons PAF tone then you should check out the Van Zandt trubuckers or Rio Grande
(http://www.vanzandtpu.com/) - in case you don't know the address
In case you want a more traditional rock tone I would strongly suggest the Suhr DSV.

But also, w/ the Rio Grandes, if you feel your JB is too much then avoid the BBQ bucker as they are pretty similar
