Hijack! LOL, Is a 2012 silver burst EC-1000 with SD Slash pickups and the original EMGs in a box for $450 a jump on it deal?

So I'm an LP lifer and have a few with hot pickups, but for some reason I've been feeling the urge to grab an ESP with EMG's. Probably an Eclipse so if I squint it'll still look right.

Been years since I've bothered with active pickups. For heavy shit what are you guys using in mahogany axes? What do you find an active pickup achieves that a hot ceramic doesn't?
I have a LP w pearly gates and a Eclipse w EMGs.

Both are great guitars.

I had one. Mine was not FT. I'm not sure they had silverburst FT's back then.

It was alright. From the front, it looked cool. But I always thought it looked super cheap/weird that the back and sides were silver rather than black or burst.

I replaced the hardware in mine because I thought chrome looked cooler.

But I had an EC-401 from 2014 that got the same hardware treatment, and that honestly played and sounded better.

I've honestly never been impressed with the 1000 series. Yes, they're nice, but they're really just a 400 series with a Tonepros bridge that's not even one of the "good" ones (the aluminum/brass ones).

As long as we're comparing Korean ones with the W serial. Both mine were like that.

If it's in good condition, and considering the additional set of pickups...I would conclude that's good deal. If you decide you don't like it sell the guitar and a set of pups separately, you'll likely make money. Most of the 1000 level LTDs I have played have been very solid.

this is my pointless non answer bro. I just installed an 81/85 combo in my greco sykes and then did the 24v mod. Was never a super big fan of emg's but the 24v mod really amazed me. love it. ymmv.....and I had a killer ec-1000ctm but a les paul it was not. Fine fuckin guitar though.

I'm gonna say that's a good deal man. Hell, the pups alone are about worth that. Every single guitar is different, regardless of manufacturer. I've just played too many now to not say that. I've had hand made customs and all that jazz too and you just can't really tell. If you can try it, do so. If you can't, at $450, it's a deal. Good luck!

Oh, yeah, missed the part where you said it's 450.

Yeah, for that price, I'd do it.

My biggest gripe with mine was that the back and sides were silver, not bursted at all. So it looked kinda cheap.

But it played well and sounded good.
