I grew up around hotrods/muscle cars and motorcycles and have always loved them. My husband bought it for me some years ago and him and my son have been working on it over time. I want it to be painted metallic black cherry. I've only driven it home and parked it before they started tearing it apart. My daily is a soccer mom suv :ROFLMAO:
metallic black cherry ..... now there's a color !!

Even though I’m a Gibson V player, I really like the idea of a V or Explorer but with a reverse Jackson or ESP type headstock. Any body wood but maple, so that it’s not a tank. Alder or mahogany.
Finish color? No idea.
If it’s between bolt on and neckthru, I’d go with neckthru.
Ebony board, 12” or higher radius or even maybe compound. Jumbo frets.
But a Gibson like neck, not quite 50’s thickness but not as skinny as a Classic.
H/H config with coil tap for the neck.
Tunomatic bridge but maybe a hipshot on the Low E tuner, if they make that for non basses.

Shit, I guess I basically just want Jackson King V, with the reverse headstock, but a fatter neck 😂

No one should be ashamed of the Explorer, no matter what kind of metal.

But for me, this one is metal... AF of course :D

Looks like we have a winner. The ML!:ROFLMAO:
j/k sorry, rottingcorpse.
Tbh, I'm surprised the LP had so few votes.
No worries, off to round 2 with the superstrat.
Thinking the next build will probably be a match up between a traditional V and an Explorer.
Sound about right, y'all?

Interesting timing since I just got a guitar I custom ordered that is my favorite I have. In either case these are some crucial specs for me:
Finish: shellac or egg white or mix of both (no nitro, poly, or oil)
Bone nut
25.5" scale
Body wood: Honduran mahogany, Red Alder or Port Orford Cedar/Cypress (what I got on the guitar I ordered)
Mainly humbuckers, but love good tele's, P90's and my overall favorite neck pickup is a Strat. I'll say '60's Gretsch Supertrons (my all time favorite pickups)
I don't care what the guitar looks like
Haven’t seen your NGD for some reason 🤔

I didn't post about it since I don't think it would have enough relevance for what most here look for in guitars (not about looks or doesn't have an '80s or metal vibe aesthetically), but no doubt it's my overall favorite guitar I've had sound wise and plays great too. Marchione is still in a league of its own (or 2) to anything else I've tried for playability, but this has been the guitar I play most often in my month having it so far and the most well rounded in what I look for sound wise. I was very careful to spec it out just right (dimensions, all shellac finish, bone nut, port Orford cedar neck and body, roasted maple board, etc)
