they can sound killer in the right context, ie. filling out the guitar range in a single guitar setting. Get another guitarist with an ego and tube amp though, and it's pretty aggravating IME.

That sounds pretty bitchin' and it's making me want to search for one of those or a Vetta to mess with :p

The hd147 is a forgotten ripper, played with a bunch of bands that killed it with those. meshuggah used the vettas the first time I saw them and it was a damn near religious experience, but I never saw anyone else use them

They're totally rippin in the bedroom and at home but as soon as you hear it next to a tube rig IME it starts sounding less rippin

Back when I used a pod I remember the insane model being a weird one, so over the top, so much gain and saturation but when I would turn the gain down to tame it, it would get to this point where it sounded like it had too much gain and too little gain at the same time.

Line 6 had a lot of amp models and effects with odd and over-exaggerated characteristics. Certainly can’t claim they never tried new things.

I always dug the tape echo models, always sad I couldn’t replicate them in the axe FX.

That song's first groovy riff after that initial riff is pretty slick. That song has absolutely no continuity at all, it's just totally different riffs after totally different riffs that do not fit. But the guitar doesn't sound bad, especially for using a Line 6.

Pretty sure the The Faceless were using Vettas when I saw them years ago, but I don't remember how they sounded

I think Michael Romeo used Vettas at one point, years ago.

Back in '05, my other guitarist had both the Vetta II and an HD147 before moving on to tube amps when he was able to afford them, both of those amps SMOKED my Marshall 6100 and Framus Cobra I was playing through. I was floored. Then both of us got 5150 BL heads and we never looked back but still, both of those L6 amps can certainly hold their own. Theres been many buzzed nights I've almost bought both for nostalgia factor but I have too much shit already and plus I wouldn't play them often enough to warrant owning them. Good shit!
