Slave to the Grind was the Rivera M100.
That album rips as well.

I was going to say the same thing. More proof to me that most of us have used too much low end on our recordings. I just saw a Joe Bonamassa video about letting each instrument fill each frequency.Sounds like EMGs through an ADA MP-1. Back then they let the bass guitar carry the low end. Which is why when you add the rest of the mix, this sounds fantastic. I really wish we could have gotten some more Vito.
That's my sense of it as well. Band conflicts and all of the red tape that goes with trying to be successful. It didn't take much of that to suck all of the joy out of it for him. At a certain level, sometimes (perhaps oftentimes), the music itself becomes the least important part of keeping the boat afloat.
I think Vitto was in it entirely for the love of music and guitar. Not unlike some pedal builders, some of whom are amazing, passionate craftsman, but who have zero stomach for the business aspect of it.
Oh man that solo
I was learning that a couple months ago and I just can’t get the speed. What a bad ass Vito was.
My lame attempt, I can’t get my brain to fire fast enough to keep up… insert jokes about age, lack of intelligence, multiple concussions:
