Anyone else think the tone got better when he switched to the destroyer?
100%

Friggin Awesome!!
I don't know about better...thicker and a bit darker than the sharp as a razor Charvel/parts white stripes. Both killer though. Can only imagine how that Destroyer sounded live BEFORE he cut it all up...lol.
Notice how he 'shuffles' his feet while he plays....got the swing feel in his blood for sure. The one and only time I got to see SRV, in 89 he did almost the same shuffle across the whole stage, for 2 hrs straight.
"The Mighty Van Halen" ..they showed why in that video, for sure.

What are the other amps stacked up on top of the Marshalls? Music Mans?

You can see them pretty well in the still shot at: 21:38

Did any one notice on, ain't talkin bout love during the verses, Eddie added a different part the second time thru on each verse? I edited this quick clip to show you the first verse then the second verse, I think it is killer and wish he would have left it that way.

He did that exact part live a lot actually - it's even on one of the Hagar-era live videos. (Live: Right Here Right Now I think)

I was just a dirty thought in my Dad's head when this concert happened.

Thanks for pointing that out - I really dig it.

I have never seen that footage! Amazing how much fire was in Eddie's playing at that time!
