Never got into Vernon's playing at all, but maybe I should give another listen to their first albums like others had mentioned.

As for Extreme, always thought Nuno's playing was great; melodic and also fairly unique. Never really cared much for Gary's voice either though.

I can appreciate Nuno’s loyalty to Gary and it may be he truly loves being in a band with him but dollars To donuts I reckon Extreme would have been a lot more of a long time success with a different singer, in sound and attitude. Gary was always the roadblock for me getting into that band. It’s not that his choices seem too gay at all. It’s all about the context he does it. It just doesn’t fit with the band. He’s playing in a funky, heavy rock band but performs like he’s doing an early 70’s cabaret in a NY bathhouse. He could have opened for Bette Midler and Barry Manilow back in the day.
Ya know, I've wondered about the same thing. I've tried to imagine Nuno in a different band (I know he had his solo stuff) like Whitesnake or someone like that.. it's kinda hard to think of, because I only associate him with Extreme funky sound. Imo... hands down he is one of the most talented guys out there.

Honestly, two bands I give zero fucks about. I’m still floored that this tour exists.

I never could make myself get into Extreme. Cherone’s vocals and the lyric writing of their stuff was just not my jam. Nuno can rip for sure but I just didn’t dig their brand of rock.

Living Color, as far as they go, I always dug Corey’s voice and don’t even hate on Vernon’s “Jimmy Page” like sloppiness. CoP is and will always be a jam, but man talk about an album that didn’t live up. There were one or two other tracks I dug ok, but coming out so strong with Cult, and then serving up Glamour Boys next, I was out.

The band is phenomenal though. Again, not a fan of most of the music.

I thought LC's second album was pretty cool, really like the three hits from it and loved their appearance with Little Richard on Arsenio Hall, where they played Elvis is Dead. I worked security for a show on the Stones' Steel Wheels tour and got to meet everyone, and LC again when they came back around on their own a few mos. later. I kind of want to go to this show to see Nuno again. He slays, no matter Gary's performance.

This thread is hilarious

I saw Living Color at Disney EPCOT. It felt kind of weird because they absolutely ripped, and it is not really the style of music for that venue, but there were quite a few in the crowd loving it.

No thoughts on Extreme, I'm gonna sound stupid here for a sec probably but I don't even know any of their songs. On the other hand, even my swiftie-fan girlfriend knows "Cult of Personality."

I got free tix to this show and we had decent seats.

Living color kicked ass!
I don't like Vernon Reid's sloppy lead playing at all but his song writing and rhythm playing are really all that matters here.
Muzz Skillings is a MONSTER drummer and Doug Wimbash is a legendary bass player.
These cats are a hard hitting funky af rhythm section.
Vernon played thru some laneys and his tone was meh.

Cory Glover was absolutely ASTOUNDING!
What a voice, and great stage presence - he owned the venue.
They totally killed it and I wouldn't want to go onstage after their short explosive set.

Extreme
Let me preface this by saying I am not a fan but I always like Nuno's playing.
Nuno was playing thru 8 ! 4 x 12's and his tone was top shelf.
He basically gave up his entire trick/lick arsenal in the first 2 songs.

My pal who I went with who has 2 teenage daughters remarked "he dresses like a 12 year old girl"
:ROFLMAO:

The drummer was lame and his mix in the PA was distorted AF and it ruined the overall vibe.
Who cares about the bass player - he looked like a southern rocker from blackfoot or something.

Finally - Cherone
His singing was muffled by the shitty drum mix but he sounded good I guess - hard to tell or really lock in on it.
He prances and dances like a flaming gay ballet LGBQT THEY.
At various points he was literally bending over like he was about to receive a dick - wtf?
I am not at all homophobic and you could call me "woke"but this is rigtalk and i'm gonna call it like I saw it - Gary was a flaming fag on stage.
Gary was so hard to watch YET IT WAS COMEDIC and we left as soon as they broke out the acoustic for what was holeherted.
So were were there for I think 4-5 tunes total.
I am not the right demographic for Extreme so there you have it.
quite a review🤣
