I currently have a Guyaton MD-3 and it sounds okay, but the level is VERY sensitive. Any good suggestions on a different pedal? I am looking for pedal size.

How about that new Boss/Roland Space Echo pedal? I imagine it would sound good infront, as loadsa guys used to run them in the front end back in the day!

Couldn't have said it better myself! LOL! :D
I've heard them. We plopped them in front of my Super Lead.

I like the Electro Harmonix Stereo Memory Man Delay with Hazarai or the Damage Control Timeline. Both sounded really nice in front and in loops. Size is an issue with these but for me I will compromise size before sound quality any day.

yup, I have the originals, but I dont feel like using them. Maybe I will pull out the Space Echo...

Man get that sucker plugged in and shred  Those older echo units are amazing!

I've had good results with an Ibanez DE-7. It's really cheap and sounds good. I use it front of my Splawn modded JCM 800 and it isn't noisy and like I said, it sounds surprisingly good.

Install an effects loop. I hate the way delay pedals sound into boosted amps, sounds like a trainwreck of noise IMO.

Effects loops dont work well with PPIV master volumes. :aww:

I pulled out the Roland Space Echo and it sounds great. It does make the tone a little softer, but not in a bad way. I need to clean all of the pots on it though...they were all scratchy :gethim: The tape had a little warble, but it went away after a few minutes

Ronnie LeTekro from TNT used to use a Space Echo + a Boss OD1 infront of his old Marshalls, and his tone kicked ass!!!

I use a Boss DM-3 and it sounds pretty damn good in front of my Marshalls. I've had just about as good of luck with the cheap Ibanez DE-7 with the switch set to echo.

Do you mean the DE-7? People speak highly of the soundtank Echomachine too. I'd like to try one.

Yeah, The DE-7 is what I mean. Don't mind me I'm retarded!

I think my Maxon AD-80 does well in front of my amps as the last one in the chain. This is using it with a boost pedal too. Ibanez has an AD-9 and Maxon has an AD-9 that are pretty similar.

I have thought about installing an effects loop on my vintage fenders, but it seems more trouble than it is worth...

Ibanez DE-7  I've had 2 at some point. Great pedal and you can get it for VERY cheap second hand.

Only issue is the switch. Pretty horrible design IMO.

Try the Carl Martin Red Repeat. Digital delay but sounds analog as hell to me. Very warm delay with a great tone control to make up for any loss/gain of highs or lows.

I've never been able to get any delay to sound good in front of a distorted amp. Anyone have a clip where one sounds good?

the trick is subtlety; low level, quick repeat, and a low-fi sound.

Yeah, like I said something that sounds good. :)

Thats all I ever could get to happen with delay/echo in front of a distorted amp. I don't have any use for that.
