Well comparing the Bogner Uberschall and 5150 mxr today and the blackstar ht pedal

Well the uberschall and throttle box feel the best the original jekyll and hide sounds and feels the best and the metal muff sounds good but doesn't feel great I have one more pedal to go

Have you guys heard of the Freaking Sick yet?

Lowell wanted to A/B/C my PlexiTone and BE-OD with this pedal, so I took them to him two weeks ago. He's still playing with the BE-OD, so he loaned me one of his Freaking Sick pedals to try out. It beats my PlexiTone, but I need to get my BE-OD back to try it side by side with his pedal. Going to play with it some more right now.

I`m guessing it`s the 30 volt overdrive your talking about ? Love the full eq , does it have as much gain of the plexitone ? If I remember correctly the gold plexitone has a ton of gain on tap

My PlexiTone is just too much. Sure, it retains the basic Plexi character of the otherwise very clean '69 100w Plexi (clone) I run it through. But I have to keep the knobs way down to not sound like cookie monster metal or create a lot of feedback howl. The Freaking Sick, IMHO, is sort of in between the BE-OD and the PlexiTone. I have the drive at about noon and it gets pretty close to VHI distortion. With my BE-OD, I keep the trim pot at 50% and the drive pretty low, like around 8 o'clock. I like the FS a lot, but am looking forward to A/B'ing it with my BE-OD later this week. Other issue for me on the FS is the faint black script on the blue background with the very bright green LED. If I decide to go with one, I'll ask Lowell to build me one with different colors and fonts, so I can see it in a gig situation without my glasses and covering up the LED.

Ok so the evh overdrive sounds amazing through my amp but sucked at the amp in gc head scratcher the uberschall pedal us awesome but I just don't think I'm a fan of the tone of an uberschall

This is my life right now lol

Have you tried a Fulltone OCD or Zvex Distortron ?

Love the fulltone haven't tried zvex I guess I'm looking for more of a metal pedal honestly. The EVH mxr sounds amazing through my amp but sounded bad in guitarcenter on the marshall they have set up for pedals.

I have a Blackstar HT Dual. Great pedal, not the best for metal, but for hard rock, it's one of the best ive tried. Looking to part ways with it since i don't use it anymore.

Jekyll/Hyde is an all-time fave of mine. I use the Route 808 which is the Jeckyll side. It's my go to 808 type. Warm, clear and nice output. I use it with everything

I think people that haven't tried the Friedman pedal will be surprised how versatile it is. It definitely isn't an all-out metal pedal like a BOSS Metal Zone or something. As you turn that gain knob, you go from Pink Floyd slight crunch to AC/DC crunch to GnR and ending around a Metallica/Megadeth type gain. Not sure what people are expecting but usable around the spectrum.

Yep, love my route 808

I still have my jekyll and hyde but never used the hyde side so was taking up more room than needed on my board. Not a big fan of the hyde distortion though (which is essentially a marshall shredmaster).
