Looking for a passive pick up for metal tones

I like the Duncan Distortion. I have that bridge pickup in 3 of my guitars! I had the Suhr Aldrich pickups (bridge and neck) in a PRS Hiland and they sound really good as well.

What do you mean with smooth? Dark, compressed? Less bite?

(I'm interested in the Suhr SSH+ or Aldrich pickups myself, as well as the other pickups mentioned... Mostly a slightly higher-gain and more balanced JB for metal – without completely spoiling the cleans.)

2xEMG81s, don't even bother switching to passives unless it's for clean tones IMO. Better switch to mahogany body guitar.
