Man, I thought I got in on the ground floor of Grunge. I knew Mother Love Bone, Mudhoney. I latched on to AIC before anyone else I knew was ready to take that step.

How is it I never listened to Louder Than Love? Badmotorfinger, yeah, before any of my friends knew about it.
But damn man. This is some psychedelic stoner rock at its best. How did I miss this?!?!!??!

I effing love this. Reminds me of all I dig about Ian Moore's All the Colors. I really dig whatever this loose, happy vibe is.

My buddy got that when it came out, and honestly none of us got into it.
We were still cranking And Justice...

It really wasn't until Badmotorfinger we started to get into it.

May have to listen again, don't think I have heard a single song from the album since it came out.

It is not my favorite of theirs, but I have nothing bad to say about it. I think I’ll listen to it again taking kids to school today.

While I like Cornell's voice on this (before he became a crooner), I did not (and still do not) dig Kim Thayil's playing. Why he gets a signature guitar now I do not understand.

This was the first I heard from Soundgarden and is my favorite of theirs followed closely by Badmotorfinger. Strangely, I've never really listened to Ultramega OK

This was my intro to them as well. The opening track just kills. Love the guitar sound on this. Very, straight in 800 sounding. I think the VTM’s were used for touring but maybe it’s them on this as well? This and Facelift were the big signpost’s for change for me. Never cared for Nirvana.

Another great one, beyond the wheel and incessant mace rip

One of my favorite albums to sing along with when I’m drunk. Power trip and I awake are my favorites
may have had IPAs last night.

Same about Facelift for me. I still remember the first time I heard it. So different than anything else at the time.

Cool, more stuff to check out!

Saw Soundgarden open for Living Colour, at The Stone in S.F., on the “Vivid” tour, in ‘88.
After Soundgarden was done with their set, we all turned and looked at each other and said “Now we know what Sabbath would’ve sounded like with Plant singing.”

No idea...it's one of my top albums of that era, and soundgarden's best album.

Haven’t spent any time listening to this record. Not sure I’ve ever heard it? Got a new soundtrack for the weekend

Ah yes. My first Soundgarden album and I bought it around the time of release. Why? A buddy told me it sounded like Led Zeppelin so I was all in. When I listened and it did not sound like Led Zeppelin, I was colored unimpressed and didn't really like it. I need to listen to this again with fresh ears and this thread has inspired me to do so. Batmotorfinger was more my speed - damn fine album with some super human singing.

Saw them open for Faith No More quite a few times on the LTL tour. Soundgarden was a hard act to follow and a lot of people left when their set was done.

Great album! Never really listened to it a few years ago after seeing them live again and hearing a couple of songs. Killer.
