im tired of tweeking the marks, i play alot of different guitars and different pickups. i will find a good setting and then switch to another guitar and start retweak the setting and eventually get annoyed with it and go to one of my other amps becuase im not happy with the tone, i also had a mark iv and it was like you said.
im not saying that a amp should sound the same with every guitar either, i dont want a amp that i never have to change a knob. but i do like a amp that is easy to dial in when i change guitars and pickups, the marks had to be fine tuned. with my vh4 and herbert if im playing a les paul with burstbuckers and switch to my esp with emgs i can dial it in quick and i know exactly where i need my settings.
