Lynch is struggling again..

For the record I do still like George but I don't like when he goes back to the "creative" jam phase where he is reaching for notes and dragging or playing out of key because he strayed too far off a lick. It's fun to play that way sometimes.

I feel that, and agree my fav stuff from him is his Dokken/Lynch Mob stuff...but the crossed arm dude, use em' up then throw them away when they get older/venture creatively bs is not the fuckin' way. Gratitude and Respect is all I got.

Put on some delay, just play all these funky notes and patterns that don't fit but add that supper fast legato vibrato at the end of what you do and play it real choppy. You will feel like George!

That is the stuff I like. Sometimes ya land on your feet and sometimes ya don’t. He has made his mark many times over.

I am loving the stuff Lynch is doing with AON and Terry Ilous. I thought George's instrumental record was great and so was the first Sweet/Lynch record. Ray Wise was a terrible choice for a singer. I am glad George dumped him after two shows. The tour got off to a rough start, but all I have heard is rave reviews from fans about what George is doing with AON and Terry Ilous. To me George seems like he absolutely on fire right now. I wonder if a record company like Frontier connected these guys after the Ray Wise disaster?

Its one thing to be blessed to do what you love for a living but he had to let his ego take over and smear shit all over his statement. Nothing wrong with being a master of your craft but don't preach like you don't give a shit and going to put zero effort in putting on a show for paying customers/fans. Never could stand that guy. He was an amazing player back in his prime though, I'll give him that.

A lot of these musicians need to be sent to interview class like the sports teams do to avoid the asshole look. “Never would I have thought 40 years ago that in 2022 I would be be fortunate enough to still be playing for our amazing fans, I see familiar faces in the crowd and it really inspires me to give my all and give back to them” or some bullshit would have sounded much better

To the OP, I’d rather listen to Jon Levin in Dokken these days, he nails it. Never seen him have an off night. True he didn’t originate the tunes, but he kills them night after night, consistently, which is more than I can say for George at this point, and I’m a total Lynch fan boi. He even nails the tones, using Marshall DSL amps (usually, probably rented backline) and a variety of guitars (mainly custom shop Charvels),but there’s a live video from Greece 2006 where he uses his old Kramer from the Doro days and he nails the tones. His pedalboard has a Tube Screamer and a Boss delay, maybe some chorus. Amazing player.

Def a tone is in the hands guy.. pinch of OD and off the shelf nothing special amp and off he goes. Actually most of the guys we all like have very simple boards with the exception here or there. But the Pete Thorn types with loaded boards are usually pro players who do many diff gigs rather than old school iconic guys.
