Thought yall might appreciate this- definitely give the amp a more modern feel and sound.

Those Mesa .50 caliber + amps are basically lower wattage Mark series amps, they do that Mark tone very well, maybe a bit spongier?? They dial in exactly like a Mark III or IV. A bit under powered though, they say they're 50 watts but they feel more like a 30 watt amp, probably because of the tiny transformers on them??Raw and tight or thin and raspy ? Reminds me Mesa Caliber amps in some way but 10x price tag
I wonder the same thing, seems strange to discontinue what is, arguably, the best rack power amp everI’m curious about the differences in the VHT power amps out there, also why the 2150 was discontinued.

Dang, I only knew of three. Curious why the discontinuation though. There are six versions.

Well, they still would sell them to proffesionals, wouldn't they? I know Jerry Cantrell is using them at the moment. I would love to have one, it's just that shipping one from the states to canada would be pretty damn steep, and that's not including duty fees.Who has made prohibitively expensive four-space rack power amps weighing in at 80 lbs for the last couple of decades? The market is what it is, I guess, more people gravitated towards more practical units as time went on - and it´s in many cases not worth the effort to keep up production of something you sell once in a blue moon. It might have taken years to clean out the last of the components, and at that point it might have made sense to not order in a fresh batch of, say, expensive transformers that they would sit on for five-ten more years.
Presumably lots of boring business factors at work, and in the end it probably had nothing to do with how they sound.
Micced cab- this one was just sm7b on a redback- I usually do one speaker with one mic and another speaker with another mic and stereo pan those hard to each sideSounds great, maybe a little bright for my tastes but it's cool. How are you recording that? What setup?
Can you explain these and the nomads? What are they supposed to be exactly? I have never heard many great things about them but there’s always a few people that love them. I have never tried either of them personally. You seem to be knowledgeable on them so that’s why I’m asking you bro….Those Mesa .50 caliber + amps are basically lower wattage Mark series amps, they do that Mark tone very well, maybe a bit spongier??
