Thinking V30/G12-65 would be a great mix.

Yes they would. I have cabs loaded with each and together they are awesome.

Thanks, have you tried em in a 212 configuration or just a 412? Right now I am using a V30/CL80 in my 212s because the 65s alone in my cabs were way too dark for my Bogner or Event Horizon. I need to find a mix that will work with my Splawn and still afraid mixing in the 65 could be really dark since the V30s are already dark! V30s have solid mids, but very pulled back highs like the 65s. I am thinking G12H30s, Greenbacks, 75s and 80s might mix better.

I have a Marshall Greenback cab and recently starting mixing speakers in it.
First, WGS ET65 and Ret30's sounded alright, but the 65's are just too dark for my liking.

Currently I've settled on Greenbacks and Ret30's in an X pattern. The mids are great and the the lowend is solid and tight from the V30 clones. I like my speakers to have some degree of brightness to them and the Greenbacks add that nice highend crunch. The Ret30's have a nice top end too that the real V30 lacks. It also shaves off some of those gnawing upper mids and replaces them with a more pleasing and controlable amount of mids. Next to a real V30 they sound very similar, but slightly different.

greenback 25's on top, broken in V30's on bottom is pretty happening IMO.

I put g12h-30 in my
kicks ass
I did an x pattern w/ the greenbacks, but couldn't hear the greenbacks anymore, so decided it's best w/ one style speaker

About 7 years ago I had Guitar center order 2 marshall 1960 bx cabs new direct .
they came in and were crappy quality. Tolex coming loose and grill cloth crooked, crummy fitment at the corners. So they ordered 2 more..
They also came in screwed up. So they ordered 2 more , and so on and so forth...
After 8 cabs I placed a call to Marshall and told them they had serious quality control issues... I was done with them. I placed a call to MOJO and have been buying their cabs ever since.
Try MOJO cabs. Same exact look, specs, without the Bullshit issues you and your money don't deserve. And they are cheaper and you can load the speakers you want.....just sayin.......

Picked up a 10 year old Marshall 1960b JCM900 412 and it is very solid, really tight, nothing loose, no rattles, feels solid, tolex fine...great deal! I am not sure I like having all G12T-75 speakers but my buddy has a mix of V30/G12T-75s and it sounds great! The 75s smooth out the V30 and really open things up! If not, I will go all Greenbacks. I know a guy unloading 12 year old English Greenbacks I might buy since GBs in a Marshall 412 are glorious. :)
