  :hys: :hys:

What everyone else said. Sounds like do do.

The McKenzie demo is a little better, at least he goes through the modes. Maybe Tony needs to get Chappers to come over and play it for him while he switches the knobs.

After reading these forms for a long, long time, I thought it was about time to create an account and reply to something.
Living up in Canada and hearing about the release and these demos I decided to call local dealers about prices for it because before them, MF said $2600 which disappointed me.

Turns out they are $1799 here. So I see no problem with it at its price point considering it is about $100 more than a normal JVM410.

The Tony M vid has some good tones in it. That sounds like it might be a good Marshall.

I like the McKenzie videos if only for the fact he opens up the chassis on all these newer amps and shows you what you're getting.

fastredpony car doesn't just use a digital camera, he uses 2 diff speakers and 3 mics in most cases.... that's why he gets those killer results. The digi cam is just for the video!

This would be a very good buy then!

:)

While I'm sure that this is a very nice amp, for $2600 I'll pass. I'm sure that I can get every one of those tones out of my 5153, and paid $800 less. Once again, I'm sure the Satch amp is nice, but I think that price is way out of line.

I am most likely going to repeat this, although irrelevant to most people here I bet, but both of the amps are the same price up here in Canadiana Land, $1799.
But I do bet that there will be some of you guys who aren't far from the border who would make the road trip up to get one for $800 less.

Not trying to be rude but Please Point me in the Direction of a canadian website that CLEARLY quotes a price of $1799 for a Satriani JVM head.
It's one thing to say it and another to point towards a dealer who has it listed as $1700.

Websites don't have them up yet, probably won't for a bit. But a brief call to enquire about them was easy enough for me.
Cosmo Music has them for $1879.
I spoke to the head of the guitar department at my local Long and Mcquade(our version of Guitar Center) and he said although they weren't in they system yet that they had them coming in at $1799 and he has always been a more than reliable source for product info over the past decade.

One way or another, still much more affordable.

That Tony M vid was great. If this amp comes in at under 2K it will be hard to resist. Amp sounds much more foward, in your face than the regular JVM

Well, I didn't mean to sound harsh in my last post. Ive never heard of Canada getting special prices on the Marshall stuff, but I do know that Long and Mcquade has some sick clout , so I'm starting to believe that you are correct ;) Canada will more then likely get better pricing ;)
All the best!

Carl,

That's pretty much what it was described to me by one of the guys at Marshall. It's less compressed then the Original JVM and it has a choke in it which will definitely change the feel of the amp. It has some of the AFD amp in it on the crunch channel and the Mid boost switches will go a long way.

Given that I am a dealer, getting this amp under 2k is going to be a challenge IMHO. The Big boys like MF are going to start it off at $2600 here in the States and if you have a coupon, it will be a bit less, but still above 2k IMHO.

Yeah, I don't see the Satch JVM being much more than the regular model here in Canada.

Tempting for sure. I'd like a modern Marshall that doesn't need pedals like boosts or gates. This could be it...

If I wanted one I would definitely be heading over the Peace Bridge if that price is accurate.

This is what I thought about it when I first heard him talking about it two years ago, and the modes of the amp really seem to have a much more linear transition as well as more organic tone qualities.

I typically like Chappers... I know the guy can lay it down.

This demo was just too much of a knitting circle with hens clucking away than it was flick the switch and throw down some sound. It was simply way too polite.

So, what do we have so far now from Marshall's camp:
AFD Slash Siggy
KK Kerry King
JH Hendrix
RR Randy Rhoads
LEM Lemmy Kilmister
XPW Paul Weller
YJM Yngwie Malmsteen
DM Dave Mustaine
and of course, the recent Joe Satriani head...and I thought Navarro had a siggy head too somewhere in there??

I'm kinda looking at this from a production perspective. Here are 10+ uniquely voiced, from ground-up creations, specifically designed around the needs of each of these iconic players. Offering bells and whistles that are truly important in defining [said legend's] tone and approach to music. Right?

Sure.

MARshall amps.
MARketing.
MARket share....

.....Next up the Johnny Marr signature head, unlike anything we've designed before.

So I had a chance of talking with some other people about this amps innards, and found out something that I thought was very intriguing and might need to be pointed out about it.

The power amp is a JCM 800/1959 Super Lead power amp! This was very neat to find out until it dawned on me. Channel 2 Amber is suppose to be JCM 800 preamp circuit! And the red mode AFD100 Circuit.... could this mean we actually get those exact sounds out of this?! We will have to see!
