Marshall JVM demo JVM410HJS - Joe Satriani sig. amp *updated

$2600 is robbery for any 410H. I bought one of the first 410H heads brand new when the street price was $1600. Then they arbitrarily raised the price to $2400 so they could charge $1600 for the 2-channel models instead of the $1000 they're really worth new.

F this amp. Get a Splawn Quick Rod and pocket the extra $650. Oh, and be happier...

Only in America are the prices that high. The standard price everywhere else is still $1600-$1700. This head is only $1799 where I am

I wasn't that keen on the original JVM but this thing sounds killer. I like that mid shift button reminiscent of the DSL.

For almost $1000 less, I bet the 5150 III 100w would go head to head, and probably slay this Marshall. $2600 is a lotta coin for a Marshall production amp. $2600 = Uberschall! I'll take a Bogner over this any day of the week.

That price is high for sure. I've never been a signature gear liking guy(except Nuno) but it does sound good to me.

That demo sounds horrible  .. like a splatty gainy bass heavy mess. I think i can hear where they were going with it and the design but would really need to hear it demo'd and recorded properly or with a proper room mic. Ton of clipping in that clip. Based on what i just saw, I wouldn't touch that amp.

I had a chance to play another JVM410HJS. It is really a spectacular head and priced very well for what you get. I think it sounds and feels better than the Mesa Mark V by a wide margin for my taste. I think it sounds better than the Bogner 101B and I am contemplating replacing my Shiva with the Satriani head. This is the first new Marshall other than the fantastic Vintage Modern, that has blown me away! Nicely done Marshall!

I have some good friends whom I trust who have opened the head and said build is every bit as good as his Mesa Boogies.

We often hear snobby opinions about new Marshalls. The reality is, this amp is NO joke.

These reviews are exactly my thoughts on this amp as well.

It's a fantastic amp. No question. The early demos weren't well recorded at all. That first review from Tony M was a good review for looking inside the amp but the recording was hideous.

For me, it just simply works. The multiple channels, boosted loop, noise gates, mid shift, etc, etc. are great. Once you dial it in to what you like it is pretty hard to stop playing it. I run a Maxxon VOP-9 into it to change things up a bit once in a while. The clean boost tightens it up nicely. The amp sounds great with V30s.

Love the JVM Satriani. I sold the YJM100, Landry and my MK V is up FS. The head does everything I want an amp to do. I can get different eras of Marshall, I can find a channel and mode to suit ANY pedal like OD, dist, fuzz, treble boosters, etc. Great amp, IMO

I had a reg. JVM for a while, but I recently had my 6100 retubed and rebiased and it just kills it.So far I prefer my 6100 over the reg. jvm but would love to demo a satch in the future.

I am not a fan of the regular JVM but the Satriani JVM is amazing! I have owned Marshalls from the 60s and 70s and my favorite modern Marshalls are this Satriani and the Vintage Modern 2466!

Nick really does a great job of making the amp sounds like a grainy mushy mess. I'm sure it's better than that.

After a year with it I sold it. The clean was anemic, the gain channels were mushy. Only good tones I got was hitting a Crunch mode w/ an OD. It wasn't worth keeping a 12 mode amp when, for me, only one or two of them were decent

I'm just curious how you can go from

How could your opinion of the amp change that much in such a short period? I really am confused. Was it up for sale?

Had it a year. I did like it at first. The more I played it the more I noticed things I didn't like about it. In hindsight, I think I liked the original JVM a bit more. Both good amps, I just got tired of it

I've had my JVM 410HJS a year and half now and still love it. I've had a few amp GAS attacks during that time just to hear something different (grass is always greener) but I always go back to the Marshall.

To fully solve future amp GAS, I bought a Kemper. I've tried every amp on there, and the profiles I always come back to are the modded JCM 800's or JVM profiles.

The only amp that comes close I think is the 5150 III.

The box that gives me GAS says Friedman on it.

I liked watching Satch play. Great player. The sound was good.
