...like WHO's going to be selling this? (the usual dealers or do I really have to go through a US Music Corp dealer (e.g. Randall)???)
...WHEN"s it going to be available for sale (May? June?)
...is this a limited edition (200 units) or will it be mass produced (e.g. JVM)? :scared:
...price point @ USD$2500? More due to limited ed. status? :gethim:

It F*CKING pisses me off that after attending NAMM all 4 days, talking to multiple people (including the nice Marshall folks including Chris and Santiago), and reviewing all the vids on-line, that the above questions STILL remain open...especially the first one.

And I understand that Marshall/KORG's been busy with the AFD100, and that the YJM protos were rushed to be ready for the show. I really get it. BUT with the distribution changes (like the booth was virtually empty ALL DAY Thursday with the USMusic Corp people totally clueless and without ANY info), it's very concerning.

Marshall dealers, please comment. GC?

Korg has nothing to do with Marshall anymore....In Ohio there are no more indy Marshall dealers, I'd venture a guess most other states are the same since Korg dropped them. I think only GC / MF/ etc and Sam Ash are left....

Yngwie will get the first 100 or so.... :)

There really is not a lot of info available to us anxious men yet, I already checked myself. From what I understand, we won't see these until summer though. This should hold you over for a while:

@DB - I have always thought that that vid was more "Enuffz Enuff" or Warrant, than shred.. :bleh:
@GG - time to deal with Satan - I get it. IF the disaster that the Randall MTS stuff is any indication, this is going to be a disaster of epic proportion. BTW, I say this because here in LA (as in Hollywood, LA, OC) you have to literally SEARCH for MTS stuff. Curt and Squid Music have been good but other than them (Sam A$$ dropped the line years ago), there's nothing. Marshall had better do something quick.

@ER - I referred this music to Yngwie's "Rocky Soundtrack" era

   totally!

Yep, I carried Randall SS stuff for a short time....sent more back than worked...too bad cause they sounded great when they worked. I would like to get one, but probably won't happen unless a used one floats around....

the YJM100 isn't "offically" released. Marshall showed it at NAMM because of the internet leak. when the info becomes available from Marshall, you'll be able to get it. at NAMM...the USM guys didn't know the YJM100 was even going to be there.

as far as the dealer details on it, (i.e. pricing, production, etc.) is still yet to be deteremined. Santiago or Chris would have been able to give that info right? they didn't because it's not released. all that stuff is yet to be determined.

furthermore...when KORG lost Marshall...they didn't share any info with USM. To blame USM for Korg not playing fairly or giving any dealer list is ridiculous. there are a ton of independant Marshall dealers that Korg never let know they weren't going to distribute Marshall anymore. they are left, like USM, to figure out who is who.

Marshall USA is in control, USM just sells, services, and ships.

Not at all. Korg has nothing to do with AFD100, they were distributor, but definitely nothing to do with R&D. YJM100 prototypes were ready way earlier than AFD100, in fact all the AFD technoogy was taken from the YJM.

Regarding dates, they weren't announced because they are not definitive yet.

$2500 is less than several of your guitars and two amps that you have in your sig

Thanks Santiago, will this be a limited run or a signature line that will continue on after this year?
thanks!
mike.

Thank you Santiago for the clarification. But if the AFD100 power scaling/ext biasing was 'taken' from the YJM, why is the YJM taking so long to get to market? AND is this really true?

http://www.wildwestguitars.com/marshallhome.htm#ymj

ONLY 150 to the USA???

Also, why is it taking soooo long to get the AFD100 to the USA? I'm hearing that it won't be until late March until we see our AFD100's

I realize this is NOT your problem/issue, and that you're EXTREMELY generous with your time to post on these forums.

It's just that I've been waiting a while for the AFD and now it looks like it'll be a "race" to buy a YJM.

$$$'s are no issue for me. It's a matter of dealer service and selection.

Wildwest is great, don't get me wrong, it's just they are not located close to the beaches of Orange County (10 miles south of the NAMM show in Anaheim).

Thanks!!!
mike.

Hi,

the order of product launch is company decision. I guess that because the AFD development was made public, the company decided to postpone the YJM release until the AFD100 was cleared up. Lucikly for me I am not part of those decisions :-)

I am not aware about the 150 units to the USA. Last I heard was that the distributors/dealers were placing orders so if that figure is right I can imagine that it was what was requested in the USA...

First batch of AFD100s already landed in the USA, don't know if they reached the user yet though.

I've gotta think that for the entire US, there must be more than 150 guys interested in the YJM100?
Anyway, better for those of us who are!!!
Regarding the AFD100's - Guitar Center's NOT received anything yet, and I know a couple of other smaller, mid-west Marshall dealers who are still waiting as well. Hopefully we get our AFD's soon!
