Check the guy in the OP new Fender re-amp demo vid. Pretty cool stuff.

It's really good and makes a great case for the Fender. Honestly at this point, I see slaved all day long. Variac'd and cranked sounds awesome but it isn't "that" sound. Slaving is.

all very interesting info and i remember VH talking about how great his bandmaster sounded for use warming up backstage.
i think ossie did a beter job blending in the direct signal and his di sound was better too. the result of his experiment was more convincing, but this guy plays vh way better.

again if this DI theory is part of the equation then it needs to be integrated into the amp like an onboard parallel di blend knob/circuit you can mix into the sound. the thought of needing an amp 1 to load and run into amp 2 and taking a DI into yet another path for me is just so impractical for anything other than cobbling together for home enjoyment.

which is sad because when done right, a tone that cool should be used live and on big records!

Wolf’s effort was noble but that song he did with his dad’s amp and gtr should have NAILED the old VH tone. how sick would that have been? he still has time…

Wolf has enough coin to hire Friedman, Gausted, Ossie, Suhr, Matt Bruck, James Brown, Metropoulos, James Santiago and Pete Thorn for a week, lock’em in 5150 with dad’s 12301 and their respective amps, and design a one stop solution to all this madness. call it the Wolfgang Amplifier.
bypassable “pre-preamp” fx loop with ep3 preamp, flanger, phaser,

cranked/attenuated/variaced core amp with graphic eq and di blend in parallel mix circuit to a dry cab out,
and a wet line out with built in sunset sound reverb, micropitch and ep3/sde-3000 delay options.

he has 4 years to get it ready to release for the 50th anniversary🥳 of the VH I release!

2nd cab discovered during VH1 sessions!!!!

All that bandmaster talk makes me wonder if Jose used some of that DNA in Ed's main amp!?

It’s a real shame Marshall doesn’t hire a guy like Ossie to build them a ‘The 12301’ amplifier to honor the EVH early tone.

They’re missing a huge opportunity.
It's a shame Marshall doesn't do alot of things. I would have never let Santiago go but you are correct, alot of amp talent out there they could tap into. As a Marshall diehard, it pisses me off.

I am one of the fortunate ones to own a Marshmello The 1. It is a masterpiece. Ossie is a sonic wizard, a genius! The amp is tonally, the best early EVH sounding amp ever. And it can do some other tones as well. Also Ossie is such an amazing, nice human being. He is a great person always available to answer questions and chat. Back to the amp, if you want that incredible early EVH tone, at any volume including whisper quiet, The 1 is the amp, hands down.
Ossie is a genius!

Did those ever go into production? I emailed with Ossie way back about one but never followed through. I am going to email him again.

one of the amps I regret selling was a 68 bassman blackface. I bought it when they were cheap, to learn how to recap amps, and sold it like a dummy. That thing got mean when it was pushing air.

Email him. He's still making them but on limited runs, only a small amount.
Good luck!
I am very pleased to hear the feedback ! Not much has been online regarding the amp. The one Martin recorded his video on was on par with his re amp and consistent with his own playing. However the other by a gent named Tim was really good as well, however, his videos are hard to find and from what I experienced were consistant with his own tone as well. I think he had a rockstah mod 5 for comparison and sounded extremely close.

Ossies videos are really informative and he seems to be an increadibly nice person and so intelligent, I am just having a hard time going from ' The 1 ' to a UA OxBox IR deal. Don't get me wrong I absolutely love James Santiago and trust him and Ossie so thats not the thing. I am just a real plexi user with pre rolas and all that. Its a big 'jump' for me to digest.

Gtrshred , can you help me along here? Cab and use. . . IF I want to play with a live drummer and a cab, can I do that ? with a single 4x12? And then when we talk loaded down, how are the volume levels. Gig applications not bedroom stuff.

Thanx for your input, this is alot to digest before considering. I want to play out with this kind of tone. Can we have stage volume and a feed for the sound board at a show ? Just trying to figure it out. Thanks in advance and Jammin Holidays All !

I think what we hear is an amp setup trying to replicate the recorded amp tones versus what you hear in Ed's actual live amp tones from the tour. It's an cool endeavor on Ossie's part for sure.
i was pretty happy with the result of running the UA Lion into my eggie IE4 ch 3. a bit too much saturated preamp gain and not wide open and glassy up top enough for tap harmonics to leap out easily, but the chompy roaring plexi dna was present:

running Wayne’s Griffin Audio Atomic Punk Overdrive into my attenuated Peacemaker gave me a bit more raw marshall bite and VH I vibe:

i think my warehouse Invader 50/ET 65 speakers have good edge but not enough low watt vintage celestion percussion and response in the mix. sunset reverb would help alot too!

@SmashingAtom Yes, I've seen all the videos. Tim's videos are not there anymore. I think he took them down. He's a great guy along with Ossie. What you hear in all of the videos is what you will get from The 1.

So I have used it with The OX Box and full range speakers and it is THAT sound, sounds just like the videos. I have also tried it with my Mesa 2x12 cab and it will work along side a drummer in a live situation. It would be loud enough. I'm a working musician. My band plays out 4-5 days a week. The 1 would certainly work live. I haven't tried it yet but at home, I've played it enough to know it would work.

Reach out to Ossie. He is incredibly nice and forthcoming. He will answer all of your questions. He's an incredible human being, great guy.

By the way, The 1 is flexible in the ways you can use it and the tones remain the same. To me, it has the best early EVH tone out there. I'm still shocked and so happy at how great it sounds. I wish I could post audio but my home studio is currently out of service.

Let me know if you have other questions. I may be able to answer them. Best et is to contact Ossie. He is THE MAN.

Happy Holidays to all!
