I had a Epi 335 pro for a while. It had the longer headstock. I was ok with the look. It played nice but plastic nut and junk electronic components. I just offloaded it. I like the Sheraton better except for the canoe paddle headstock. The five piece neck=win. The neck dive=fail. The worthwhile solution is the Bigsby but $$$. The newer Emily Wolfe models have a normal headstock but no five piece neck and a missing tone knob, doh!
I would look at Edwards or Seventy Seven guitars. The seventy seven exrubato model is the semi hollow. Better factory electrics in a f-hole guitar from the get go is is worth the few extra bucks to me cause of the wiring hassles. The Edwards got the Duncans factory., pretty nice. And both of those brands have an open book headstock if it matters. The downside is probably having to order from Japan. Worth it if you can get it through a dealer like Ishibashi or one of the other larger shops who ship internationally often.
