For those of you that don't know, yeah, there may be one or two, there is a forum member on the Bogner forum that has incorporated the Bogner 2004 mod and the Cameron mod on a single switchable circuit. The install is really very straight forward. There are just two wires that have to be soldered to the proper place on the XTC 101b circuit board and...that's it. Below is my post on the Bogner forum site.

"OK, guys, I just finished installing the Marvel circuit. The install went in without a hitch...no issues.

Marvel...thanks so much man...this is way cool.

Now I have three options:

1) Pre-2004 mod
2) Bogner 2004 mod
3) Cameron mod

AWESOME! :D

The Cameron mod is by FAR my favorite!

One point to make here. The mod went in easily because I bought the proper tools. I plan on using the tools for other projects, however, if installing the mod is your only goal...I'm sure you can get an experienced tech to do the job cheaper and with less worries.

1) Weller WSE51 - $85.00
2) Rosen core solder - $6.00
3) Rosen - $2.50
4) BIG ass magnifying glass - $16.00
5) Close work light - $34.00

I am getting this as well...of course I will need to find someone to do it for me, lest I burn up my XTC (and perhaps my house as well   )

From what I've read, it seems like a great, easily-reversed mod. I have the 101A (6L6) model, and while I think it inherently has just a bit more "girth" to the tone over the 101B, I'd love just a tad more crunch, maybe this will be it.

It is an easily reversible mod, however, since the switch allows me to pick which "version" of the XTC red channel I want, I really don't see a need to reverse.

very nice and clean

Yes indeed it is clean and simple.

I played the amp last night for about 3 hours with the Cameron mod switched on. Man, I love that mod...it makes the XTC sound much more vocal...really cool. Being able to switch between all three "versions" of the XTC makes it easy to compare which sounds best "to my ears."

i ordered one as well if for nothing more to support the guy since i thought it was such a cool way to do the mod. I also asked him to ship a few extra boards as well to play with different values.

That is awesome. My old Ecstasy had the Cameron mod and it sounded terrific. Interesting that you like it best. I know you said it's more vocal, is that the only reason you prefer it? I always wondered what the 2004 Bogner mod sounded like. Care to compare?

post vs pre 2004 the post 2004 adds a bit more gain more than anything else noticeable.

The Bogner 2004 mod has more gain than the Cameron mod, however, I think the added gain thins the sound a bit. The Cameron mod gain is between the Bogner Pre-2004 and Bogner-2004 mod and is also more mid/mid focused...hence the more vocal quality "to my ears." As I mentioned, Marvel's circuit lets you pick which "version" XTC you want by just the flip of a switch...too cool.

Note: The mod only effects the Red channel.

I don't know if there's room, but if there is, a 6 way rotary switch would give you a LOT more options. :)

Cool idea, and kudos for him to come up with that, but that is simple enough that you don't really need a board.

Hmm, I need to open up my Ecstacy and have a gander... :D

Mo options, mo options, mo options...

Yeah, it's simple enough not to require a board, however, a board sure makes it neat and easy to install.

I think someone else was also talking about that and in the end they decided to go with two boards instead of putting them all on one. I dont remember who was talking about that from teh bogner board or if they even went ahead and did it or not but that was also brought up.

Yeah. When I first got mine, I PM'd BrentSP from the Bogner board about all the mods and he told me that the Cameron mod was aimed at the high mids whereas the Bogner mod was more the highs. It did have a very vocal quality to the Red channel, and sounded great.

Cameron Mod is why I decided to mod mine, too. Less compressed, more articulate, more high mids, tighter (especially on palm-muted rhythm work)...Cost me $6 bucks shipped to my door from mouser.com. Takes about 10 minutes to do (had to remove the medicore post 2004 mod), if you are saavy with the iron...if not, you should practice first and watch some youtube videos.

When I first got my Bogner I always thought it didn't really live up to my expectations. Now, with the Cameron mod switched on, the amp sounds like I imagined it should. That little something, something that was bug'n me about the XTC is gone and now the amp just rocks...very cool.

Yeah, I hear ya. It really makes that channel a lot more versatile.

I agree that you dont need the board, but I have seen how some people solder and they might ruin the amp board or parts...

Yeah but all the parts on a 6way would be mounted on the switch - you'd have two wires going back to the amp board, just like if you had one of the boards like shown earlier in the thread.

You can also just wire a DPDT switch and have the two sets of parts attached on each end of the switch with the center poles going to the pcb (I'd have to take a pic to show it, my ascii skills suck.)
