So who here picked up Mass Effect last week? I've been playing it almost non stop since I got it. Definitely an amazing game.

KOTOR was always one of my favorite games ever. If you like ME you would love KOTOR. Of course the graphics aren't as good as ME but it's got a great story. And yes, ME rules  I love the universe they created.

And after such short games like COD4 it's refreshing to play a game with some depth.

I actually didn't like KOTOR, which is why I didn't think I would really like Mass Effect that much, but I totally love it. The galaxy is so huge and the story is awesome. I'm about 33 hours in and maybe a bit over halfway through the game. I've been doing every sidequest and optional task possible. How cool is it that our real life solar system is in the game too? It's awesome landing on the moon and seeing Earth looming in the sky.

I haven't had that much time to play it but I'm about 5 hours in and like it a lot. I'm a Vanguard but I'll have to try out a few of the character classes. Gotta love the GoGo bar in the Citadel

I like how you can sit down and watch the dancers...and choose to sit forward. :D

I picked the soldier class and decided to go the Paragon route. I already filled up the Paragon meter the whole way. I'll pick a different class and be a Renegade the second time I play through. :gethim: :D

I'll be picking it up when I get me xbox back for sure.

Mega, you n I have gotta play some COD4 together once I'm back online mate.

I'm not gonna play any COD4 until I beat Mass Effect. I hate how you can't invert the X axis in Mass Effect, so it took me a few days to get used to that. I have no clue why that isn't an option.

I want to get it but some of the reviews mention some bugginess and frame rate stutters, is any of that affecting the game at all?

KOTOR took over my life for a short spell back when it came out. I didn't like the sequel as much though......

Not at all. I didn't even notice it until I was pretty far into the game. It rarely even happens.

I'm hopelessly addicted to that goddamn game!!! that and the TV show Dexter as well..which has nothing to do with this thread, but I thought I'd give another example of my addictive personality =D

I didn't like KOTOR simply because of the turn based combat...something doesn't sit right with not having live combat in a star wars game

I love turn based combat, but I didn't think it worked at all in that game, and it wasn't done well at all IMO. The combat in Mass Effect suits the game a lot better.

same here..in a game say like Final Fantasy VII on the original PS one...turn based combat was fun and cool to do..just works for that type of game..but I agree, didn't work in KOTOR...at least for me...if you're going to weild a blaster and a light saber I want full goddamn control!

Completely overblown by the haters looking to nitpick. I love when i saw people complaining about the grainy graphics because there's an option to shut off the the grain affect.

yep..turn off the grain and the motion blur and you're good to go..

the inventory system is a little unorthodox (after playing oblivion for 125 hours I gotten used to that), but after a little while you get used to how it works...

Hey Dan, did you get Assassin's Creed too? It was a lot longer than I thought it would be. Took me about 25-30 hours to beat it. I got everything except all the flags...because there's SO many of them. It gets kinda repetitive, but it's a really fun game. Cool story and setting.

Yeah it's really cool game, I just wish there was more variety. You keep doing the same exact stuff for the whole game, but I still really liked it. Climbing some of those viewpoints is insane and assassinating people then running like hell is fun.

Do you have Xbox Live Ralph?
