Hey Dan, did you get Assassin's Creed too? It was a lot longer than I thought it would be. Took me about 25-30 hours to beat it. I got everything except all the flags...because there's SO many of them. It gets kinda repetitive, but it's a really fun game. Cool story and setting.

Im still playing Creed and I think its better then what some people were saying. That said, Im still not sure about WTF im supposed to do at times but its seems as if I always wind up on my feet lol.

Im getting COD4 for christmas and Ill probably get Mass effect after I beat Creed

Yeah it's really cool game, I just wish there was more variety. You keep doing the same exact stuff for the whole game, but I still really liked it. Climbing some of those viewpoints is insane and assassinating people then running like hell is fun.

Do you have Xbox Live Ralph?

The game is definitely repetitive and I absolutely love climbing the viewpoints lol! I just have to get a handle on the map and Im not sure if I should be killing people or just walking away from them lol.

I don't have live for the simple reason that Id abuse my time to much. I used to waste hours playing Unreal tournament online and Im trying my hardest not to do it again with xbox games :D

Haha, you mean just all the random citizens and guards? You can kill them, but then it attracts attention when other people see the dead bodies...and then you have a higher chance of getting spotted. There are achievements for assassinating and fighting with certain numbers of guards and such though.

Yes. When walking, yo get the guys who glow and I'm not sure if I should kill them and run or just stick to the main task. Ive already saved a bunch of people though. I just killed the first guy yesterday (haven't been playing much) Im now on the second mission so to speak.

I rented it and wasn't into it that much. I guess if i stuck with it i might have liked it more but i had to return it and ME came out.

RALPH. Unless you're going to go online and play COD4 DON'T buy it, rent it. You can beat it in 5 hours, if that!. They should just charge $20 for it and not even bother with the single player campaign if it's going to be that short. Yes, it's an intense wild game but just you can rent it for a week from Blockbuster for $8. And i think you would like Bioshock a lot more, i know you would dig the creepy atmosphere!

I want to check out The Orange Box as well.

The citizens that glow are "courageous citizens." You can pickpocket throwing knives from them, and they will try to fight you if they see you causing trouble or trying to steal from them. You can do whatever you want though as far as killing them or just ignoring them, it depends on how you want to play the game.

That's too bad it's a 360 only title for now. It looks like my kind of game. :(

dude, orange box rocks....I started playing HL2 (not episode 1 or 2 yet, mind you..just straight up HL2) and while it does look a little dated, there's just something about it that's very engrossing...the story's a little confusing at the beginning..probably cause I never beat HL1, but the gameplay is crazy! there's really not much variety in enemies, but as I said..there's a certain something about the game, be it all the running around in vehicles, the physics based puzzles or the KILLER gravity gun that makes this game something you just have to play..

I did try a little team fortress 2 and didn't really dig it..but that's ok...the three half life installments alone make it worthit..

of course, mass effect fucking owns my soul right now so I haven't played it in awhile..lol

So who here picked up Mass Effect last week? I've been playing it almost non stop since I got it. Definitely an amazing game.

Bought it last night. I'm kinda happy that band practice was canceled tonight - lol...

It reminds me of those old-school choose your own adventure books, so far.

I got as far as the Citidel and decided to start over and make the main charactor a bit different...

I just beat the game, took me 41 hours. I did every sidequest possible except collecting all the minerals. I just got bored and wanted to move the story along. The ending was amazing and there's no doubt there's gonna be a sequel. Definitely one of the coolest games I've ever played. I'll have to start up a new game now to play through as a Renegade and do the opposite of everything I did the first time.

I'm about 22 hours in, I'm at Noveria and i did a bunch of side quests. The next time i play through with a new character I'm going to be the biggest self centered asshole i can possibly be

Me too. :D

Just wait until you unlock the "Paramour" achievement. :checkthisout: :D

I picked it up yesterday.

The issues I read in the reviews doesn't seem to be a big deal at least not yet :)

I turned that grain filter thing off the other day and it really did make the graphics better...and they were already great to begin with.

actually, theres going to be 2 more Mass Effect's...its supposed to be a trilogy (and all good things come in trilogies!)

good thing is, theyre making it to where you can use your character from the 1st one and continue on in the other 2 installments. awesome!

i just picked it up today...used amazingly! looked like the guy played it for five minutes then put it away! dont see why, its a GREAT game! i loved Jade Empire, although it was pretty easy. not big on the KOTOR games...i hate turn based combat, which is why i could never really get into the FF series. but Mass Effect so far is great. ive noticed a few frame rate quirks, but nothing horrible. the graphics dont bother me...grainy? yes...but i think it adds a bit to the atmosphere. maybe ill turn that off and see what it looks like without...but im cool with it right now.

but...im getting online and playing some CoD4 in a bit. and i agree...Gainfreak if you want to play CoD4 single player but not multiplayer, then DONT buy it. its a great game, and the single player missions are great, but its short. multiplayer though...amazing and VERY time consuming. its addictive as hell! and it plays great with a controller amazingly...all other FPS games with controllers have been kinda clumsy...but CoD4 got it right. i still dont think its as accurate as a mouse and keyboard, but it works really well and i dont really fret over it too much.

Just started up a new game. It's already fun as hell playing as a Renegade. :gethim: :D

I got done with Noveria and Virmire last night. This is probably my favorite game this year, just edging out Bioshock. I like this a lot more than COD4 or Halo3. The side missions do get very repetetive but the main quest is incredible.

And for some reason i put the grain filter back on. It makes it easier on my eyes and it adds to the atmosphere even if it isn't as sharp looking.

I was looking on the Mass Effect forum on Bioware's website and some of those guys created some really cool looking versions of Shepard, namely some hot looking female ones. :D

I was extremely disappointed that you can't give the custom male ones a beard or long hair though.

Just picked it up today. I will have to give it a shot tonight. I loved KOTOR and Jade Empire so I'm sure I will love ME too.

Mass Effect is great...but i think i still would prefer to play CoD, Bioshock, or Half Life. but ME is a different game...kills Halo and CoD single player campaigns...but the online part of CoD is too great to pass up!

and i hate that i cant play my 360 right now...at the woman's place because i just spent a few more hours working on some computers at her mom's clinic. at least im getting a few bucks for it  but no ME or CoD = the suck!
