Hey friends.. Im looking and have the option to get either one.. Matrix gt800fx or gt1000fx. I'll be using it PRIMARILY for my wet/dry rig. Running my Killer Kali++ into Suhr iso line out straight out to dry 2x12. then suhr lineout level out to fx pedals, into poweramp and out to 2x12. I know both are solid units and want to make sure I get the right one.. the better one, etc. Most reviews and clips are matrix with modelers(axe, kemper, etc).. and not so much amp slaving/line level out to fx and poweramp...etc. I may do some modeler gear type stuff in the future but my main concern is for the LIVE wet/dry rig and which unit would suffice my needs better. Im gonna jump on one of these today so would love your input... if you're not busy indulging in all the Namm stuff :D Cheers and appreciate it.

At the LA Amp Show, I was running the GT800FX in a W/D/W rig with my Henning Cherry Bomb and the engineers from Matrix came by and were talking for awhile. They said for what I was doing with a head and a W/D/W rig the GT800FX amp was perfect and that they wouldn't recommend stepping up to the GT1000FX. This was after there sales rep guy tried to offer me a 1000 cheap at the end of the show. We were LOUD in my room too and the GT800FX hangs touch with a screaming 120W head...

id probably wait for the isp stealth amp, true 180 watts mono 80 stereo. tiny like 9x4. class a/b mosfet.

Sounds friggin' awesome! Ask anyone who heard it at the show.... There are some video clips of it on my website as well running W/D/W at the show.

I like the GT800FX better than the VHT 2/50/2 I sold for W/D/W and it weighs like 30 lbs less!

You have me sold I think. Appreciate it!! I currently have an ART-SLA2 and want to upgrade a bit. Cheers Steve :)
ps.. if you're sick of your vintage white relic charvel custom shop, I'd be happy to store it for you and free up some space for you :D
Love that guitar

I have the 1000 and feel it is more juice than i need.
It is super loud and you have to be careful with it to not smoke your speakers.

I would consider letting the 1000 go if i could find something that sounds as good with less power.
I only use 2 1x12's for the wet channels and the 1000 is too much for that.

It does sound incredible. You would probably be fine with the 800.
I dont know when the isp will be out but it sounds like it will be more suited for my needs.

I have the 1500 that I'm using two channels for wet and third channel for slaving my plexi !!the matrix sounds amazing!!!

I'm considering these.

Using it as a power slave for your preamp, in a full band rehearsal situation, would you need the 1000 over the 800? Any sound difference between the two?

Pete put up a demo of these two on YouTube that might help decide.

Awesome video!!! Thanks.

Seemed to me the 800 had a bit more tube character, and I actually like that one better.

Does anyone of you owning it, know if it's loud enough in a band context? Say.. like a 50w Marshall JMP cranked.

Easily. I had the 800 in my AxeFx rig and the other guitartist was using a Diezel VH4. My Axe hung with the VH4 easily.
