True.... I just sold the black one though.... To build another one myself! :D

NICE!! I would have just sold off the body and bought something with humbuckers.
I was going to do that, but I'm going to go with a floyd on this one and didn't want to deal with modifying the nut and all that. I might just keep my eye out for a production Charvel or GMW too. I just need a guitar with a Floyd dammit!

I loved the Strat head GMW I had, but it had an all maple body and neck and didn't like the tone. I'd love another one. But nothing with blood on it. :D

I had a JB Jr. in my old Maiden Strat and it sounded real good IMO. I'd probably just get the guitar routed for a humbucker in the bridge though, just in case I'd ever want to swap it. :D

Looking at the guitar you're putting together...might as well just go get a Maiden Strat ;)

No I think selling the whole guitar was a good idea

is that first pic with flat black sperzels? I have some on my Ibanez. Damn those tuners just look so badass

Yup... those are the black sperzels. I put Gotoh's on the other guitar.

Well in that case...
The floyd might be easier to assemble in the end. You don't need to make a nut.

Looks good. You decided to go with flat-sawn... That's cool too. I may try a flat-sawn neck next.
I got it at the heel because it's not available at the headstock with the floyd. Well it is, but you need to get a special locking nut. I figured what the hell... It's not that bad.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure the neck on my GMW isn't quartersawn so I'm trying to get as close to it as possible. :D

It's hard to tell on the pictures. In person it's pretty easy. The trouble with quarter-sawn is that it's SUPER stiff and straight. If you get a single-action truss rod, you won't be able to add relief to it if need-be. That's why I got the dual-action truss rod on mine. Works like a charm.

Would you suggest the dual action truss rod for a flat sawn neck as well?

You probably wouldn't need it. The dual-action truss rod forces the neck to bow in 2 directions. Convex and Concave.
Flat-sawn necks tend to need force to straighten them. In other words, to remove too much relief. The quarter-sawn necks are so straight that they need force in both directions. You can always check with Musikraft to see what they recommend. They're really good about getting back to you. They're also pretty helpful with questions if you get stuck.

Good deal. I'll probably call them up when I have the money to order, I'd rather actually tell a person all the specs I want so nothing gets messed up. I found a finished vintage white body in Warmoth's showcase that's just what I want as well.

Cool!
That way you can get their opinion about what you should get.
