I reckon just get the Royal Atlantic and simply play the guitar looser. I guess you could use an EQ in front of the amp with the bottom end boosted, so it "flubs" a tiny bit.

Sort of like the reverse of using a Tube Screamer in front of a Recto- that pedal tends to cut a little bit of the bottom end going into the amp, thus "tightening" the amp up a bit.

Royal Atlantic sounded great when I finally heard it in person

The thing that has bothered me about the Electra Dyne and Royal is they sound boring to me. Nothing exciting jumps out at me, like when I play my Shiva, PWE or Rectifier. That is why I have been leaning toward Splawn or Orange lately, much more exciting in how they sound and feel. This tone is to die for...

You must have multiple personality disorder? :D You just told me the other day the Electra Dyne is the fattest sounding amp you ever played and you were getting one.

Dan, this has been going on since the days of Rich being at the Line 6 Institute of Noise forum (regarding the Vetta). I think the ED ia an awesome amp and wish I would have gotten that over the last Mark IV I bought a year ago. I think the tones are awesome especially with a boost.
