Mesa is seriously making good stuff right now, I wanted the Express combo too...it's a company that over the years refines what it does and keeps improving.

I could see myself becoming a Mesa fanboy one day...don't bump that old thread BTW you bastard! :D

Who me

I am done searching, I am very lucky to be able to afford my JVM and MK IV and have way more options than talent right now

BTW played with the guys I jam with today and one guy had a $$$$$$ PRS he borrowed and your 565 smoked it tone wise per everyone there  HAve not even tweaked the neck yet.
That's cool Scott...the action must seem a bit high to you (HOM member) I remember SteveVHT saying he had his guitar plecked and his action was minuscule...I would buzz like crazy all over that. :D The way I play I would have the strings clanking all over the fretboard, really heavy picking hand...that's why I like less gain...just force it out. ;)
I'm old school of slop, hit it hard...windmills dammit!

It has lowered a hair maybe but I am done with the micro low action, just too much tweaking and you can lose the guitar in a heartbeat. I still like low but HOM low is out, I do not have the touch of those guys..mr hamfisted here :D

How's the thin neck?...no problems?
My old 550 I just sold was damn straight, action was so low I hardly played it.
The guy that bought it showed up and complained the action was way too high so I handed him an allen key and said go nuts and lower it. He had it so low I was shocked...no buzz at all, the guy was shocked. It's amazing for such a thin neck and after so many years some of them are still in really perfect shape. ;)

With the mojo on that guitar he should not be complaining :gethim:

It has to be the grain, it is just very straight grain so I am thinking that makes it more stable? It is on my desk in the basement on a stand and that is the guitar I use when screwing around with Fruity Loops or BFD, maybe a stable enviroment helps. The new 5 piece Ibanez necks are stupid stable, I have three now and not one has had the truss cover off yet.

The GMWs told awhile to settle, my new balck one would drift like crazy but is starting to settle.

I'll never hear about that 550 again...kind of bothers me, I loved that guitar.

Two of my favorite formites (you and Vlad) have some of my old gear...may sound corny but I really dig that you both talk about them....still in the family.

pretty damned good, had to listen again, could have sworn you had flanger! that's a better take than lots of the Brown sound guys, or atleast better chops!

don't laugh too hard, but beleave it or not, a damned Metalzone sounds pretty good with the Fat Clean channel!

Thanks...and I'm probably playing it wrong.
Could work...stranger things have happened. :D
The clean channel is great with that normal Twin type voicing and the tweed switch....best clean tone in an amp I've had, must be the 6L6 thing.
