Annnnnnnnd the 3 sounds way better :). This whole thing is by far the stupidest tone/amp chase on earth to me. The 2c+ prices are the dumbest thing I’ve absolutely ever seen.
Yeah… would rather have a used wizard for less than half what a iic+ costs, which I think sounds better anyway, but that’s just me. Maybe I’m insane o_O

my birthday is on friday, i can not wait to get shit faced off goldschlager, plug a emg 81 loaded guitar into my iic+ and just chug and yell hetfield "fuck yeahs!!!" all night to the moonlit skies above, theres few things i find more thrilling :ROFLMAO:

It turns the GEQ into a pedal. It isolates it with an input and output jack. Like Hetfield did in his big rack before Mike b made him a stereo GEQ. Here is a pic of the stereo GEQ Mike B made. If you look carefully, I was running one side into the other. The sound was insane. Biggest wall of sound. If you over did it, the speakers would howl in a way I never heard before.

Oooh ahh, that is sweet. Do you use that in conjunction with the onboard EQ, presumably in the loop? Might have to build one if I can figure it out.

In a blind test I’ve always preferred a mark III over a IIB or IIC personally. When I think of mark series I think of Whitesnake not Metallica.

I’m absolutely blown away by my mark III++. I’m waiting until I move into the new house later this fall before I do any recordings but it’s insane.

I been playing my 3++ a lot . But I’m playing Metallica lol. Amon Amarth sounds great on mark amps

Why not mod the IIC+ and III to no NFB?
Just like with the Modern channel on the Rectos No NFB also makes it louder, more percussive and a little looser in the ass. Guys want their Marks to be tight, I guess... Anyway to your question, I have no idea. It's not something most people know about.

What? How? Was GEQ taken out? Please tell me more, I am unexperienced and knowledge hungry :)

This is the only pic I've found of his rack with the covers off/open.

Like I said in the post… it isolates the GEQ. Mike adds a GEQ only input and output jack to the rack unit and a switch. This way the deck unit works as intended. Then if you just want to use the GEQ with a different amp, flip the switch, then run cables to the new GEQ input and output and your done.

Here is a pic of my old rack. Both triaxis units (V1 and tx4 versions) were modded with the ++ mods, added switching mod to turn on/off the GEQ with midi. I even modded the Strategy 400 with depth mods. Sounded killer… I sold most of it off years ago. Along with all of my 2C++, coliseum and Mark 3++ mods. Too bad I didn’t keep it. I’d be making bank selling the stuff now. ?

THAT is some kinda awesome there!

I owned a Mark iII, and theres no way that amp had better tone than a IIC+. You gotta have ears to realize that though.

Yeaaa the III just falls short where it really counts. I just didn’t enjoy playing it and that was the biggest problem. sold mine pretty damn quickly and wouldn’t own another honestly.
