Mesa Single Rectifier = underrated!

The single rec I played sounded great, it just wasn’t enough for the band I was playing with at the time

HNAD. How do you like it so far? Try the Treble on "0" trick and then mess with the loop mix knob on back.
 
I had both version one and two. Both sounded a bit different. Neither had the growl of a dual or triple recto. Mind you I’m not saying they weren’t good, just more of a hard rock tone than a metal vibe. Toss a boost in front and you are GTG.
Cool amps nonetheless.

I’m surprised at all the different ways - with and without a boost - that I‘m getting great tones. I’ve tried the tone-at-zero and use the presence trick. I’ll try messing with the loop mix, too. I put it at 0 and haven’t touched it since. I also have a pair of EL34’s to try out, too. The honeymoon is going WAY better than expected.
I‘m open to any other suggestions and settings to try out.
