These guys can not write songs worth a shit anymore. Once you become who they have become, you can't reach down and find the stuff that made you write the incredible songs of the past.

His voice is shot. People hate on Kirk's playing but when I saw them a couple years ago his tone and playing were spot on, so was the wah tap dancing James on the other hand was almost unlistenable, just a real trainwreck. Trujillo's bass rig was sounding monstrous that night.

Yeah, I just actually watched the video (unfortunately) and that was fucking TERRIBLE Wow. The actual small part of me that's still a fan wishes they would just hang it up. Lock that voice away and throw away the key

i concur. There was a part in Some Kind of Monster when the guys all started adding lyric lines to one of the songs. . . . and it ended up sounding that way. . . like a bunch of people just added random lines to the song. no coherent message at all.

If they had a good vocal melody, he would not be able to sing it. They are a classic example of a band that could never find a singer.
