Metallica - Of Wolf And Man (Mesa Mark IV Clip)

I have received quite a few requests to do a Metallica clip with the Mark IV. I wasn't trying to go for an authentic Metallica tone (scooped) but wanted to give my take with it.

Several of the requests asked if the Mark IV has enough gain to handle this kind of music without a boost. I definitely think so. The guitars have a little reverb to fill in the space and that's it.

I have been doing quite a bit of recording this week (Guns n Roses - You're Crazy/Rocket Queen and Killswitch Engage - My Curse). I know they are cover tunes but I haven't taken the time to write my own material yet. Let me know if you're interested in hearing them (I just don't want to be a clip whore). :thumbsup:

Sounds great. I like how the bass sits in the mix too.

Thanks. I noticed that it is much easier to get the bass to sit in the mix at standard tuning as opposed to down tuning.
 
Nice sounding clip again, man! I like OWAM quite a lot and it's sick how simple the song is. Here we can see, once again, that it's all about the melodies and groove. :thumbsup:

I don't have any poweramp atm because Mesa's been so slow in building my new 2:90. :gethim: I can't wait to get it... I miss that Mesa crunch. :cry:

Thanks! I think the rhythm tones could sound better if I was pushing volume in that clip (recorded at very low volume). Funny thing is that I am not a really a fan of Metallica. I loved them when I was a youngster but every once in a while I will put on a tune form them. Either way, it was a fun clip to record.
 
Sounds really good man, as all your clips do. I really want another Mark IV. I'll prolly end up selling this Roadster to get one sooner or later.
