Awesome/Killer ... !

So nice to see an older Rocker using his brainpower to remember lyrics instead of a teleprompter.

Not sure if you are trying to be ironic or not but... look at 3:14 in the video clip posted. Overhead shot, you can clearly see 3 telepromters set up by the floor monitors (1 for James, 1 for Kirk, 1 for Rob) with the lyrics streaming on them. So I guess all 3 need help remembering the lyrics.

James' voice sounds good... still don't like their tone or vibe... this is not the Metallica I grew up with or know and love... sounds more like a hard rock group... or a B side song from Load. No thanks.

PS: Lars needs to take of the skully. We all know you're bald. And quit the facial gyrations. Looks like he having an epileptic fit.

Sounds like a b-side from Load? Two completely different styles of music that sound nothing alike. I get that not everyone likes the new stuff and that's cool, but speak intelligently for the love of God.

I dug the Stern gig better. But the Fallon show was great too. I understand the hate,I just don't have it for them as of lately. Just glad they are still digging what they do.

Kind of sad that the music world has changed to the point that good musicians have to play this game. I long for the days when bands could sell out stadiums just based on radio air play. (Yes, I'm old!)
I'm with you bro!

I can't stand either of the new songs, but you can't say that wasn't a good performance. They're still a great live band. I would go see them again if the opportunity arose, for sure.

I'll be watching Cunning Stunts all day today thanks to this thread. I'm one of the few who really loves this era of Metallica. I really dig Load, ReLoad is pretty good, and live they were fantastic. The best period for James' voice and the band actually seems happy to be playing with each other. The guitar tone is awesome here too. Less gain and more clarity, still plenty heavy. I really dig how 'casual" the Cunning Stunts gig is. They just walk up on stage and start playing with the lights on.

James' stage banter is still cringe-worthy here, but we wouldn't want it any other way would we? Heh

Best song came out from that camp since 91. The Hardwired song is the same shit as everything on magnetic, I lost all my hopes with Hardwired, Moth got me excited.

Not an era I care for but some nice choices on the setlist and great guitar tone on this one...starts at 7:40
Triaxls and 400's/500's here?

I liked it. Love there live performances!
I would be glad if they would bring back there tube amps though. There AxeFX sounds aren't as good as there previous live sound... There may be different views on that, but I hear a difference. And I think it is kinda sad that a big band like metallica is using the AxeFX to save money...
