given that it is apparently gone where did that group migrate to?

Anyone know?

It's been up and down lately. I guess they're working out some bugs so I'll keep trying and sure enough it comes back up.

That above link seems to work for me. Don't listen to the haters, It's a great site for amp building, restoration and general Marshall enthusiasts. The VH section was put there to channel the trolls and monkey poop fights away from the rest of the site and I can see that it is still doing just that.

The Jimi Hendrix section there are a complete bunch of dweeb ass-munchers. George, who owns Metro will never see a CENT of my money. Fuck Metro and Fuck George and his horseshit amps. Overpriced to boot.

I've heard a lot of former Metro forum members say pretty much the same thing. That's why the place is a mausoleum now.

thanks, more interested in the amp building detail more so than the personalities.

Yep, having a look around over there, allot of the knowledgeable guys are still helping with amp questions. As you can see, the Metro hating sourpuss' are waving their sphincters around here too at Rig-Talk. You got to feel bad for George having to deal with these pests. Removing the EVH section would help but good things happen there too every once and a while.

Anyone here who stands up for that dump of a forum over at Metro is simply one of the sphincter-waggling dudes
from Metro (using a different name here) who have a personal/$$$ interest in keeping it alive; I guarantee it.

You might get helpful info at Metro, but you'd be smart to watch your back there regardless.
There's a good reason that place has lost the majority of its forum members over the years, and it ain't because someone ripped off a really stinky fart.

Watch your back?

Hilarious, and nobody wants your money Carl and haven't for 15 years.

Who the fuck is "Carl", and what the fuck does "Carl" have to do with anything?

My point being: nobody wants a Metro amp, and nobody wants to hang out with Metro choads on their forum.

Take a look if you don't believe me. The same Metro fucknugget founders that have been shilling the same BS for years are the only
forum members left... and all they do is a little circle jerk with each other... with George as the pivot man.

If you want "hilarious" read the Jimi Hendrix section of that forum. 15 years? Been a gear hound since the early 70's, Skippy. I must have hit a nerve, insulting the famous high-priced, mud amps from Metro. Shove your Mud Machine up your ass.

Does all of this flak have something to do with builders/dealers? I've been at Metro for a few years and I find it to be a very informative and helpful website. I couldn't have built my 2204 clone without them...

I built a jtm45/100 some time back with lots of help over there. Sourced the parts from ebay, valve storm and a couple of great guys who supplied me with hard to find NOS components. Fantastic experience and met some good people too.

How 'bout a little fascinating internet guitar forum history?

Meh... it's way past time for George to stick a fork in it and take up some other hobby like fishing.

His inner circle (jerk), who helped him launch the forum and his business, are primarily to blame.

Metroamp died approximately 5 years ago when George stupidly gave his inner circle (jerk) forum admin rights.

Pissed everyone else off; lots of good people left the place.

Then the tumbleweeds started rolling in.

Then a few years of his inner circle (jerk) jerking each other off by re-hashing already-known "info" in posts (because no one was left); talking amongst themselves and hoping to catch the eye of the outsider and boost membership. In many cases, said "info" was stolen from guys who joined, shared their nuggets of wisdom, got argued against, and then got banned for some BS reason. The next week, the inner circle would discuss the banned dude's nuggets of wisdom amongst themselves (taking credit for it, of course) - hoping to get more members. This was the M.O.

Then the forum got hacked. The site was down for a long time.

Then after it finally got fixed, some more re-re-re-hashing and stealing info.

Then the big hack occured. The site was kaput.

Then George got a new domain and started a new forum.

Anybody who had anything of value to say on the forum is long gone now.

Of the 15 or so who still post there, there's a 90% chance you're getting an inner circle member who will do
anything and say anything to help George drum up some business.

Oh and, that's not even touching upon the Mark Abrahamian (Rockstah) or cerrem fiascos.
