Both are pretty mediocre but I'll give it to Halo. At least I don't have to look for save points... its 2008 already, why are some games still using super nintendo save systems

Having to look for save points makes it so you actually have to keep ourself alive and not jsut do stupid shit and die and restart right where you died. Saving anytime/anywhere makes lazy gamers IMO.

well, taking more time to fine tune it instead of giving us something shit in the end is better, plus how the hell would multiplayer with metroid work?
Chris, he's just complaining like usual.

Exactly like it does in the freaking DS one-online and with a lot more depth than most online multiplayer console FPSs I can think of. And at very least, like it did in Prime 2, which had split screen multiplayer. They originally said Prime 3 would have it, as well. Then they said it might not be online. Then they stopped talking about it altogether. Then they said it was finally coming out after several missed release times, but they were no longer doing ANY multiplayer.

It only makes sense for a brand new console game to be at least the EQUAL of its portable counterpart or its predecessor on an "inferior" console. So forgive me for expecting it after they claimed it would have it and after all the others did, save the original.

And "fine tuned" isn't anything I'd venture to call it. Some of the motion sensing stuff is pretty wildly out of whack. When I was doing things like pulling levers, if I did what it said to do, half the time, it wouldn't work, and then when I'd just set my arm down, it'd suddenly do like 3 motions all at once and work.

They'd have been better off just releasing it as a Gamecube game so they wouldn't have been messing with that BS for no reason. It's not like the other two are exactly inferior in comparison.

It'd be admirable that Nintendo always takes the time to "do it right" if they more regularly actually got it right. The bottom line is that them taking so long only amounts to them being slow as hell now. They have delayed every single game lately, and despite that, many of them turned out to be be drastically inferior to their predecessors. It took them a bazillion years to get online service going for the Wii in the US, and at this rate, the virtual console will never amount to anything. They still have not even showed examples of tons of the features of the Wii they talked up long before it was out, as if it was functionality to be made regular and expected use of. They are just freaking slow with everything they do now. It's not like the N64 days anymore where they take forever and keep delaying a game to make sure it has everything they said it did.

And as for me complaining all the time, I'm sorry I'm not content with things that progressively only go down the toilet further as time goes on. More power to you if that impresses you.

is super metroid really that good?
Super metroid is one of the best games ever. The best? Thats a tough call! I allways thought Goldeneye was one of the best. IMHO it had the best multiplayer and a great single player. The N64 had some great games as did the Super Nintendo.

Super Metroid is a FANTASTIC game....metriod prime was one of the few reasons I was pleased I bought a gamecube (than and RE 4)

RE4 may well be the single best game I've EVER played.....just amazing from start to finish...pure genius...

I played RE0 for awhile then for some reason I can't remember I stopped..but RE5 is lurking on the horizon and I'm looking forward to the next gen installment with the RE4 control scheme!

oh, and don't forget rogue leader and eternal darkness...two other bright spots in the gamecube's thin library....viewtiful joe was cool too

The RE1 remake is pwnzor, and so is Super Smash Bros. Melee. I think those are the two best GC games, and probably the two best games of the last generation that I can think of. They're the closest any recent games come to being like SNES games to me. Years later, I can still have fun playing them, with or without friends.

I never got too far in RE0, but it was pretty cool once I got into the mansion. Rogue Leader was alright. It had no multiplayer, which I find pretty stupid. Rebel Strike has multiplayer, but I've never played it. I assume it's just more of the same. I found Viewtiful Joe for $10 the other day, but I haven't played it yet.

RE4 was the only RE title i played that i actually liked   i hated the static environment stuff and not being able to see whats coming at you. maybe i just need to try some of the other RE titles again, but the style just isnt my thing. RE4 though...i was sick at the time and rented it because the commercials looked cool and i played it all day and all night. took 24 hours for me to beat it, and what an experience! then getting to play it over again with all your accumulated weapons was just awesome

now i have the PS2 version and i still play it to this day. one of the best games ever IMO...gotta love the infinite rocket launcher! RE5 looks like its going to be a blast to play as well...cant wait!

If you actually couldn't see something coming at you, it was intended, and probably would have been retarded if you could have just looked around. Personally, I love listening for groans, growls, footsteps, scratching noises, and what have you, trying to figure out wtf is about to happen. I love moments like when you're going around and opening a bunch of doors to small rooms, and you can hear zombies from the hallway, and you know they're literally right next to you, but have no idea where they really are.

One of the most truly terrifying things I have ever experienced in a video game was being low on health and ammo in the GC RE1, thinking I was safe walking into a room I had already been to previously, seeing a hallway that goes several directions, and suddenly hearing multiple, very rapid footsteps, of unknown sources and direction, clearly coming closer. There can only be so many scripted jumpy moments, and you can come to expect those, but the atmosphere and design of the game allows for infinite more suspenseful moments. I've never been as immersed in a video game as that one. It literally felt like I was trapped in an unknown house, and had no idea what to do but frantically just attempt to stay alive.

Yeah the single player games in RE4 and RE0 were both great but what really did it for me was the extra games that you could play thru if you wanted too. The Mercenary missions in RE4 was too much fun and trying to find all those dam green and blue(I think-been awhile)leeches in RE0 was even better.
