Some emperic test results

Lately was reading about different ways to Midi Floor Control the Zoom MS-50G. To lazy to build anything myself i decided to order the Kenton Midi USB Host. Because the emperic way is often the best way.

Connecting the parts. The MIDI footcontroller (iCtrl-R Mini) in the Midi in port of the Kenton Host and the USB port of the Kenton to the mini usb (computer) connection of the Zoom MS-50G.

Result: It freaking works!!!!!

Now it is possible to MIDI Foot control and select any Patch in any order on the MS-50G. Thats all I needed. And the Zoom can stay dry and close on my 5153 with very short signal cables connected in de amps loop. Even the freaking tuner works and is on the amp way better readable!

Only have to think out a way to phantom power the Midi Foot controller. And make a Midi Thru box to control the 5153 MIDI Channel switching.
Tap dancing is history.

Cool!

The phantom power should be pretty easy, there are ready-made cables where one side is five-pin MIDI and a regular 9V jack and the other side is 7-pin. It´s just a matter of finding the right adapter to power the controller.

Correct!

Will build a small alumium box with extra MIDI connections.
And a 5 volt adapter inlet to create phantom power via 7 pin midi to 5 pin midi and mini usb plug for the iCTRL-I Mini Footcontroller.

I am still amazed it actually works

Awesome been watching this from afar. (Zoom midi control) Zoom is so foolish for not releasing a midi 2.0 version.

I installed the new firmware on mine. It's pretty awesome being able to load all the different effects on this thing with the new librarian software. Having midi control over it would be great

- Direct patch selection at your feet!
- 6 Effects at once in the loop
- Combined with MIDI controlling my 5153 50
- Gapless switching
- Light and small

Midi Footcontroller €125, ZOOM MS-50G €85, Kenton Host €129

Done

If anyone interested, I found that Midi CC#74 turns tuner On and off does anyone know what controls Tap tempo?
