Why did you sell the other one then?

He sold it while the resale prices are still high. Once the new ones hit the shelves and the tone deaf start selling, the resale price will be a lot less. Probably around $2,700. That's when I plan on picking up another one
Yep. Especially since the new ones will be made with much better parts and not scrapped parts from all of the Marshall mods he had. Good decision on Todds part to move it now. He actually got lucky getting his asking.

I wonder what "better" transformers will be used? My CCV has Mercury Magnetics. Bottom line for me is tone. Will these "better" parts produce that signature tone that everyone loves?TArter all, that signature tone is based off of the "inferior" parts. Only time will tell ;)
You have a point.

The CCV will have all of the parts Mark wants including his Cameron Spec Red Mercury Transformers. I took him to the electronics store personally last week with HIS hand written list of exactly what he wanted in his amps all along but either didn't have the money to source. He is hand building the pre production CCV today with these parts with us at our facility and we are using that and the original proto as the baseline. This will be the best CCV Mark has ever made according to him. It will be done right, repeatable and sound killer, whats not to like?

Whats all this about better parts? I have the 3rd CCV from when Chris was involved and mine is all top end parts. No Marshall parts or shit taken out of other amps?????? Did the later ones have shitty parts or somthing? I dont get this about better parts! I have the Merc trannies and all new parts on the inside of the amp. The only complaint I have ever heard was about the first CCV sold. And I heard that was because it wasnt biased correctly.

In the mean time my mk2 herb kills.

Do you notice much off a difference between the mk2 and the mk1 on ch 2 & 3?

Not back to back yet but ch2 is less compressed and more cutting.

i've heard/read the goofy parts thing in some of the CCV's that are out. who knows?
i know i wasn't all that impressed with the one i got to try, but hell it could have been tubes, biased cold/hot, etc. etc. just know that particular one, at that time wasn't ALL THAT?

I played 3 of them in the past and didn't dig any of them but I played Superunknown's last week and it sounded and felt great. CCVs have been very inconsistent. The amp has to be built with a set protocol, which is what Brad is doing. He and Mark are patterning the prototype after one of the best sounding CCVs in the world. I have a feeling the new ones are going to sound better then the old ones and this isn't gonna be some pre-CBS Fender scene, I think it's ultimately gonna be post-CBS CCVs are the shit. Just my intuition on it.

Todd has a gaggle of good ones! i liked the Ocean he's got now, better than the CCV i got to try, and think he's got other mods he likes more than the Ocean.

Only time will tell. I am willing to bring mine to the NY Amp show to showcase it with the new ones. The only problem is that if the new ones don't live up to the old ones tone... ;) Either way, I am 100% happy with my CCV.
When is the ny amp show?
